The month of Sha'ban.
Alhamdulillah, the month of Sha'ban is the month of Rasulullah salla Allahu alayhi wasalam
As we are getting closer to Sha'ban left with two days to enter that month, it is Sunnah and recommended to fast on that month.
As reported,
It was narrated that Abu Salamah said:
“I asked ‘Aishah about the fasting of the Prophet (ﷺ). She said: ‘He used to fast until we thought he would always fast. And he used to not fast until we thought he would always not fast. I never saw him fast more in any month than in Sha’ban. He used to fast all of Shaban; he used to fast all of Sha’ban except a little
Sunan ibn Majah.
Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1710.
'A’isha (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast until one would say, he never breaks his fast (i.e. he never stops fasting), and he would abandon fasting (at other times) until one would say that he never fasts. And I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fast for a complete month except for the month of Ramadan, and I never saw him fast in a month more than he did in the month of Sha’ban.” Agreed upon andthe wording is from Muslim.
Bulugh ul Maram
Book 5, Hadith 703.
So it is recommended Sunnah to fast in the month of Sha'ban till it reaches the middle.
As reported the prophet pbuh forbade to fast till joining Sha'ban with ramadhan.
Imran b. Husain (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said to a person:
Did you observe any fast in the middle of this month (Sha'ban)? He said: No. Thereupon the Messenger ofAllah (ﷺ) said: Fast for two days instead of (one fast) when you have completed (fasts of) Ramadan.
Sahih Muslim 1161.
May Allah make us witness the month of Sha'ban in good health. Aamin
