If you are asked: Why did Allāh create us? Then say: He created us to worship Him (alone).

If you are asked: Why did Allāh create us? Then say: He created us to worship Him (alone).

The proof is the statement of Allah -the Most High-:

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ [الذاريات‎ : ٥٦]

"And I (Allāh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." [Surah Adh-Dhāriyāt: 56]

If you are asked: What is the first obligation upon the servants (of Allah)?

Then say: It is to learn the Tawhid (oneness) of Allah.

The proof is the statement of the Prophet (ﷺ) to Mu'adh bin Jabal when he sent him to Yemen:

"إِنَّكَ تَقْدَمُ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَلْيَكُنْ أَوَّلَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى أَنْ يُوَحِّدُوا اللهَ تَعَالَى".

“Indeed, you are approaching a people from the People of the Book, so let the first thing you call them to be the oneness of Allah, the Most High”.

[Reported by Bukhārī (7372) and Muslim (28) from (the narration of) Ibn 'Abbās (رضي الله عنه).]
