Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Wealth and Fame.
K'ab bin Malik (RA) reported: the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Two hungry wolves sent in the midst of a flock of sheep are no more destructive to them than a man's greed for wealth and fame is to his Deen."
[At- Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hadith Hasan Sahih] (Riyad as-Salihin, Hadith 484)
Money and fame, as in the desire to be known or admired, fuel the ego, poison the character and devour the piety of a person. Don’t pursue either for they represent the Duniya. Seek the pleasure of Allah in all that you do and you will find Jannah Insha’Allah! Some food for thought especially in an online age where wealth and fame are sought and desired. May Allah protect us from these trials – Ameen!
Have you read the Quran today? The Prophet (SAW) complained that his people have taken the Quran and abandoned it. Don’t be one of those people. Make out time to read, even if it's just for 5 minutes.
Have a blessed day and just before you go, say Alhamdulillah and perfect your day by earning blessings.
