 FAJR REMINDER: THE WOMAN WHO ASKED By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 23, 1448 (5-September-2026) Let us talk about a woman whose biography is barely known to many Muslims—a woman whose name may not immediately come to mind when we think of the noble women who surrounded the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). Her name was Umm Sharīk Ghuzayyah Bint Jābir Ibn Ḥākim Ad-Dawsiyyah (Raḍiyallāhu ʿAnha). Although very little of her life has been preserved for us, what has reached us is enough to show that she was a woman who asked questions, narrated knowledge, and participated in Prophetic teaching. Umm Sharīk was a Companion who directly narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ). She reported that she consulted Allāh's Apostle (ﷺ) regarding the killing of geckos, and he commanded her to kill them.  *_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 23rd day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Saturday, 5th September, 2026.  *_WHAT WE SAY TO END THE ṢALĀH_*. BismilLah.  After standing before ALLAH Azzawajal, bowing, prostrating, asking forgiveness, making the Tashahhud and renewing our testimony of faith, we conclude by spreading peace. We turn our head to the right and left to say: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh “Peace and the Mercy of ALLAH be upon you.” This is the established Sunnah of concluding the prayer with salām. As-Salām is also one of the beautiful Names of ALLAH Azzawajal. It carries the meaning of perfection and freedom from every defect, as well as peace and security.  *GUARD YOUR VOICE: OH SISTERS* Allah said in *Qur’an 33:32:* فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ ۖ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا “So do not be soft in speech, lest one in whose heart is a disease should be moved to desire; and speak in a manner that is appropriate.” ...and some of our noble scholars explain and support the principle, particularly regarding avoiding seductive softness, unnecessary familiarity, and inappropriate speech with non-maḥrams. 1.  A Gift For You [[- Episode 8 -]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم 'Amr ibn al-'Aas narrated that he was participating in an expedition. He had a wet dream during an extremely cold night, and was afraid that if he performed ghusl he would die. He prayed the morning prayer with his companions. He then went to the Prophet (pbuh) to ask him about this. The Prophet (pbuh) said, "O 'Amr, did you pray with your companions while you needed a post-nocturnal bath?" 'Amr mentioned the verse, *"Do not kill yourselves, Allah is merciful to you"* to the Prophet.  FAJR REMINDER: WIPING OVER KHUFFAYN OR JAWRABAYN By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 22, 1448 (4-September-2026) Alḥamdulillāh for the blessing of Islām. Among the many beauties of Islām is the ease that Allāh has placed in acts of worship. Our Sharī‘ah does not place unnecessary hardship upon us; rather, it provides concessions when appropriate. A profound example of this ease is Masḥ (wiping) over Khuffayn or Jawrabayn—leather socks or regular socks. This is an established Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ).  The following are some of the conditions for wiping over leather or regular socks: 1. The socks must be worn while in a state of ritual purity The socks must be put on after performing Wuḍū’ and while one is in a state of purity. Al-Mughīrah Ibn Shu‘bah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated: “I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey. I bent down to remove his leather socks, so he said: ‘Leave them, for I put them on while I was in a state of purity.’ Then he wiped over them.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī ...

 A Gift For You [[- Episode 7 -]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Jabir (r.a.) said, "We were on a journey and one of us got injured. Later, he had a wet dream. He asked his companions, 'Can I perform tayammum?' They said, 'No, not if you have water.' He performed ghusl and died. When they came to the Prophet (pbuh), they informed him of what had transpired. He said, 'They killed him, Allah will kill them. Do you not ask if you do not know? The rescue of the ignorant person is the question. He could have performed tayammum and dropped water on his wound or wrapped it with something and wipe over the wrapping, and wash the rest of his body." 📚This is related by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, ad-Daraqutni and Ibn as-Sakin, who said it is sahih.  FAJR REMINDER: WHEN A MISTAKE BECOMES A LESSON By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 21, 1448 (3-September-2026) Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām), under the Protection of Allāh, grew up in the very house of Fir’aun. He eventually attained his full strength and reached maturity. Then, one day, he entered the city and found two men fighting—one from his own people, the Banī Israel (an Israelite), and the other from his enemies, a Coptic. The Israelite man called upon Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) for help against the Coptic. Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām), taking advantage of the fact that people were not paying attention, approached the Coptic and struck him with his fist. The man died from the blow. Subḥānallāh! This was how Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) mistakenly killed a person. Yet, he (‘Alayhi Salām) did not simply dismiss the incident as a mistake and move on. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our understanding of what we say during salaat. Today we will study the meaning of the Tashahhud. The Tashahhud (التَّشَهُّد) is one of the most profound parts of ṣalaah. It brings together tawḥīd, praise of ALLAH Azzawajal, peace upon the Prophet ﷺ, testimony of faith, and a declaration that our entire life belongs to ALLAH Azzawajal. The commonly recited Tashahhud is: التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ، وَالصَّلَوَاتُ، وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ. السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ. السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ. أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten." 📚Maryam 19:23 This means, "I wish I had not been created and I was nothing." - I was something unknown, forgotten and no one knew who I was. *Lessons:* In every situations we found ourselves, Allah (swt) sees our Pain and Struggles. Maryam (a.s.) was a chaste woman, committed to worshipping Allah, and yet Allah tested her with a miraculous pregnancy in a community where pre-marital sex would mean surely being out-casted, even being stoned to death. And Exams also urge students to get prepared in order to succeed. Also, The wise teacher sets different evaluation criteria for different grades; the students in the first grade are not evaluated as the students in the advanced degrees. We expect that the fair and wise God would evaluate people according to what they have been provided. Furthermore, The students should not wonder about the intention of the teacher; they are supposed to focus on what the teacher asked them to do. Yes. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our understanding of what we say during salaat. Zikir after first sujuud. After the first sujuud, we sit briefly before going down for the second sujuud. In this sitting, the common Sunnah supplication is: رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي Rabbighfirlii, Rabbighfirlii “My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me.” The Prophet ﷺ taught this supplication during the sitting between the two prostrations. It is authentically reported in the hadith collections, including Sunan Abī Dāwūd and Sunan al-Tirmidhī. Why “forgive me”?
