Yaum As-sabt | 23rd day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Saturday, 5th September, 2026. 

*_WHAT WE SAY TO END THE ṢALĀH_*. BismilLah. 


After standing before ALLAH Azzawajal, bowing, prostrating, asking forgiveness, making the Tashahhud and renewing our testimony of faith, we conclude by spreading peace. We turn our head to the right and left to say:

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh

“Peace and the Mercy of ALLAH be upon you.” This is the established Sunnah of concluding the prayer with salām.


As-Salām is also one of the beautiful Names of ALLAH Azzawajal. It carries the meaning of perfection and freedom from every defect, as well as peace and security. So when we say As-salāmu ʿalaykum, we are wishing peace, safety and well-being upon those praying with us including the Angels and Jinns even though we don't see them thats why we are required to still say it even if we are praying alone..


We are not simply saying: “Goodbye.” after salaat. We are making a duʿāʾ. We are asking ALLAH to grant peace to those whom we are addressing.


This is one of the beautiful things about Islam. We finish our private conversation with ALLAH Azzawajal by turning towards the people around us and wishing them peace. We aren't merely wishing someone worldly peace. We are asking for something much greater:

ALLAH'S MERCY. Because without ALLAH'S MERCY, none of us can succeed in this life or the Hereafter.

Alhamdulillah. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
