*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaum athalaatha | 26th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 8th September, 2026. *_WASTING TIME IS ONE OF OUR GREATEST DANGERS IN LIFE_*. BismilLah.
After Shaytaan, one of the greatest dangers to a Muslim is the careless wasting of the limited time ALLAH Azzawajal has given us. Shaytaan himself often uses wasted time as a doorway to greater sins and missed opportunities.
ALLAH Azzawajal swears by time:
وَالْعَصْرِ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
“By time! Indeed, mankind is truly in loss.” Qur’an 103:1–2.
Notice that ALLAH Azzawajal did not merely say that people lose time. HE says the human being is in loss. Every moment that passes is part of our life that can never be recovered.
Our life is nothing more than a collection of hours, days and years. When an hour disappears in something useless, a portion of our life has disappeared with it.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The feet of the son of Aadam will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about his life and how he spent it…” Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī.
The question isn't simply “What did you possess?” but how did you spend your life? If we don't occupy ourselves with beneficial things, Shaytaan can easily occupy us with useless or harmful things, endless scrolling, gossip, arguments, inappropriate videos, excessive entertainment and distractions.
And social media has made this particularly dangerous as discussed in yesterday's reminder. A person may intend to spend five minutes on their phone and suddenly discover that an hour has vanished. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.
