FAJR REMINDER: UNTIE DEADLY KNOTS

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Allah (SWT) placed Prophet Ādam (AS) and his wife in Paradise. Shayṭān came to them and whispered a lie. He told them that eating from the forbidden tree would make them live forever.

Ādam (AS) and his wife ate from it, and Allah (SWT) commanded them to descend to the earth. This teaches us an important lesson:

Shayṭān's promises are always lies.

Shayṭān is still using the same trick with us today. When he wants you to do something wrong, he puts sweet lies into your heart, such as:

(1) “Do it; nobody is watching you.”
It is a lie: Allah (SWT) is always watching you.

(2) “Don't worry. Allah (SWT) is Most Forgiving, so just do it.”
It is a lie: Allah's mercy is not permission to deliberately persist in sin. The believer should never use Allah's forgiveness as an excuse to disobey Him. Rather, when we fall into sin, we should sincerely repent and return to Allah.

(3) “Go to a fortune-teller or use charms to solve your problems, and you can repent later.”
It is a lie: Seeking help through forbidden means such as fortune-telling, magic or charms can lead a person into serious sins and, depending on what is believed and practised, even into shirk. The believer should seek help from Allah alone and use lawful means.

Allah (SWT) says:

“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.”
📚 Qur'an, Sūrah Fāṭir 35:6

This means: Do not follow his advice. Open your eyes. He is not your helper; he is your enemy who wants to lead you towards the Hellfire.

Shayṭān has two major aims.

First, he whispers to make you commit sins.

Second, and just as dangerously, he tries to prevent you from doing good deeds that bring you closer to Allah.

For example:

(1) When it comes to Tahajjud and night prayer

Knowing the great reward of praying during the night, Shayṭān tries to prevent you from waking up or from remaining consistent in your worship.

Abū Hurayrah (RA) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“During your sleep, Satan ties three knots at the back of the head of each one of you, and he seals each knot with the following words: ‘The night is long, so keep on sleeping.’ When that person wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone; when he performs ablution, the second knot is undone; and when he prays, all his knots are undone...”

So, every time you wake up for prayer, remember: you are breaking the knots of Shayṭān.

(2) When it comes to giving charity (Ṣadaqah)

Shayṭān whispers:

“If you give this money away, you will become poor. Keep it for yourself. You need it more than they do.”

But Allah (SWT) tells us:

“Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty.”

My people, listen:

This whole life is a test.

Shayṭān has vowed to mislead the children of Ādam (AS) and to make every effort to turn them away from the straight path.

So, open your eyes.

When a whisper comes to your heart, stop and remember Prophet Ādam (AS). Ask yourself:

“Am I falling for the same lie?”

Do not follow the whisperer.

Fight the whispers. Remember Allah. Seek refuge in Him. Choose obedience over temptation.

That is how you pass the test.
