Let's continue with our understanding of what we say during salaat. SUJUUD. 


Sujuud (prostration) is one of the most powerful positions in ṣalaah. The body is at its lowest, yet spiritually it is a position of tremendous honour and closeness to ALLAH Azzawajal.

We then say:

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى

Subḥaana Rabbiyal-Aʿalaa

Meaning:

“Glory is to my LORD, the Most High.” It is normally repeated three times, though the number is not restricted to exactly three.

The Prophet ﷺ instructed us regarding rukūʿ:

“Glorify therein the greatness of the Lord…” and regarding sujūd:

“…and strive in supplication, for it is fitting that you should be answered.” This is reported in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim.

Think about the position of the body. Your head, which is normally the highest part of your body, is placed on the ground. And while your head is at its lowest physical position, your tongue says:

“My Lord is the Most High.”

What a powerful lesson!

The servant becomes humble while ALLAH Azzawajal is acknowledged as the Most High.

This is the essence of submission. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
