🌙 FAJR REMINDER: HIS DOOM, HER SALVATION

Rabīʿ al-Akhīr 5, 1448 AH | 17 September 2026

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Sometimes, the greatest lessons are found in the most unlikely places.

A palace.

A tyrant.

A believing woman.

And a child whose life was preserved by the very household that wanted him dead.

The story of Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) and Fir’aun is not a fairy tale or a work of fiction. It is a true story preserved in the Qur’ān by Allāh (ﷻ)—a story filled with lessons about Qadr, faith, arrogance, humility, courage, and the temporary nature of this world.

For the past few days, we have reflected upon different parts of this remarkable story. Today, let us pause and look at another powerful lesson.

🌿 ALLĀH'S DECREE CANNOT BE DEFEATED

One truth should remain firmly planted in our hearts:

Allāh is the Master and Controller of all affairs.

What He decrees will happen.

What He protects cannot be destroyed.

And what He intends to bring to pass cannot be prevented by the plans of creation.

Fir’aun feared that a male child from the Children of Israel would eventually threaten his kingdom. So he ordered the killing of their newborn sons.

Yet look at the perfection of Allāh's plan.

The child Fir’aun feared was brought directly into his own palace.

The child he wanted destroyed was raised under his own roof.

And the child he could not prevent from growing up eventually stood before him as a Messenger of Allāh, calling him to the truth.

Allāh says:

قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ

“[Fir’aun] said: ‘Did we not bring you up among us as a child, and did you not remain among us for years of your life?’”

[Sūrah Ash-Shuʿarāʾ 26:18]

SubḥānAllāh!

Fir’aun thought he was reminding Mūsā of his own greatness.

But he was unknowingly describing another part of Allāh's plan.

⚠️ NEVER LET PRIDE PREVENT YOU FROM ACCEPTING THE TRUTH

Fir’aun had power.

He had wealth.

He had authority.

He had a kingdom.

And he had once raised Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām).

But none of these things made him greater in the sight of Allāh.

This is a lesson for every one of us.

You may be older than someone.

You may be wealthier.

You may be their parent.

You may be their teacher.

You may hold a position of authority.

You may even have helped them when they were young.

But none of these things gives you the right to reject the truth when it reaches you.

Perhaps the child you raised will one day know more about the Dīn than you do.

Perhaps someone younger than you will remind you of something you have forgotten.

Perhaps the person you once taught will eventually teach you something beneficial.

When the truth becomes clear, humility demands that we accept it—regardless of who brings it.

Fir’aun could not do this.

His pride became a barrier between him and the truth.

🌸 THEN LOOK AT ‘ĀSIYAH...

Now look at the woman living inside that same palace.

‘Āsiyah bint Muzāḥim.

She had everything the world could offer.

A palace.

Wealth.

Comfort.

Luxury.

Status.

Yet she discovered something far more valuable:

Faith.

And when faith entered her heart, the palace suddenly became insignificant compared with what was waiting with Allāh.

She did not allow her husband's power to determine her relationship with her Lord.

She did not allow luxury to purchase her obedience.

She did not allow fear to destroy her faith.

She chose Allāh over the palace.

She chose Jannah over comfort.

She chose the eternal over the temporary.

The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

أَفْضَلُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ وَفَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ وَآسِيَةُ بِنْتُ مُزَاحِمٍ امْرَأَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ

“The best of the women of the people of Paradise are Khadījah bint Khuwaylid, Fāṭimah bint Muḥammad, Maryam bint ʿImrān, and Āsiyah bint Muzāḥim, the wife of Fir’aun.”

[Musnad Aḥmad, 2896]

Just think about that for a moment.

Her husband had a palace.

She had faith.

He had power.

She had patience.

He chose arrogance.

She chose submission to Allāh.

He sought permanence in this world.

She sought the everlasting life of the Hereafter.

And today, whose name is remembered with honour?

💔 THE PALACE DID NOT SAVE HIM

Fir’aun had everything—except what mattered most.

He had a kingdom, but he lost his soul.

He had soldiers, but they could not save him.

He had wealth, but it could not purchase his salvation.

He had authority, but he could not escape the decree of Allāh.

‘Āsiyah, on the other hand, had something that no palace could provide:

Imān.

This is why we should never measure success merely by what a person possesses.

A person may live in a mansion and still be spiritually bankrupt.

Another may live a simple life and be beloved to Allāh.

A person may be surrounded by luxury yet lose the Hereafter.

Another may struggle through hardship while walking towards Jannah.

The real question is not: “What do I have?”

The real question is:

“What do I have with Allāh?”

🌍 YOUR ENVIRONMENT DOES NOT HAVE TO DETERMINE YOUR DESTINY

Perhaps you are surrounded by people who do not remind you of Allāh.

Perhaps your workplace is filled with temptations.

Perhaps your friends are pulling you away from righteousness.

Perhaps your family does not understand your desire to become closer to Allāh.

Do not despair.

Look at ‘Āsiyah.

She lived inside the palace of one of history's greatest tyrants, yet she became one of the women of Paradise.

Your surroundings may influence you, but they do not have to determine your final destination.

You still have a choice.

Choose Allāh.

Choose obedience.

Choose patience.

Choose the Hereafter.

Choose what remains over what disappears.

🤲 A FINAL REMINDER

Dear brothers and sisters,

One day, every palace will be empty.

Every position will be gone.

Every title will disappear.

Every possession will be left behind.

And we will stand before the One who gave us everything.

So let us not become so attached to this temporary world that we forget the eternal one.

Let us not allow wealth to make us arrogant.

Let us not allow age to prevent us from accepting advice.

Let us not allow our position to blind us to the truth.

And let us never exchange the Pleasure of Allāh for something that will eventually perish.

Fir’aun had the palace—but lost everything.

‘Āsiyah lost the palace—but gained what is far greater.

May Allāh (ﷻ) grant us sincere and sound Īmān.

May He make us humble enough to accept the truth, wherever it comes from.

May He protect our hearts from arrogance, heedlessness and attachment to this temporary world.

May He grant us the strength to choose Him whenever we are tested between obedience and desire.

May He make us among those who prefer the Hereafter over this world.

And may He grant us a place among the righteous in Jannatul Firdaus.

Āmīn Yā Rabbal-ʿĀlamīn. 🤲🏽

🌙 FAJR REMINDER

The palace was temporary.
The kingdom was temporary.
The wealth was temporary.
The power was temporary.

But the choice they made has an eternal consequence.

Choose Allāh. Choose the Hereafter.
