It is reported that Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) was in the Masjid when a woman from the people of Muzainah, who had adorned herself, came into the Masjid. Upon this, Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) said:

“O people, prevent your women from wearing attractive garments and walking proudly in the Masjid, since the people of Bani Isra’eel were cursed because of this very action of their women.”

(Ibn Majah)

Imam Tirmidhi (RA) has recorded the narration of Ummu ‘Atiyyah (RA) in his famous collection of Hadith. She (RA) says:

“We were ordered to go out with the single and menstruating women to the two Eids…”

After quoting the statement of Ummu ‘Atiyyah (RA), Imam Tirmidhi (RA) quotes the statement of the great Muhaddith, Abdullah bin Mubarak (RA), who said:

“I believe that in these times it is makrooh for women to go for the Eid Salaah to the Musalla. If a woman insists on going, her husband should permit her to go in old clothes, and she should not adorn herself. If she does not agree to this, he must prevent her…”

It is also reported from Sufyan Thawri (RA) that he regarded it as makrooh for women to go to the Eid Salaah in these times.

(Jami‘ Tirmidhi)

🔸 Going to Eid Salah by One Route and Returning by Another

Most of the people of knowledge are of the opinion that it is preferred for a person to go to the Salah by one route and then return home through another route, regardless of whether he is the Imam or a member of the congregation.

Jabir (RA) reports:

“On the days of ‘Eid, the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) would take different routes.”

This is related by Al-Bukhari.

Abu Hurairah (RA) says:

“When the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) went to Salatul ‘Eid, he would return through a different route.”

This is related by Ahmad, Muslim, and At-Tirmidhi.

Note: It is permissible to return through the same route by which one goes to the Musalla.

Bakr ibn Mubashir says:

“I used to go with the companions of the Prophet to the Musalla on ‘Eid-ul-Adha and on ‘Eid-ul-Fitr, and we passed through a specific valley in Madinah until we came to the place of Salah and prayed with the Messenger of Allah. Then we would return to our houses through the same valley.”

This is related by Abu Dawud and Al-Hakim, and by Al-Bukhari in his At-Tarikh. Ibn As-Sakin says that its chain is acceptable.

🔸 There Is No Adhan or Iqamah for Eid Salah

Ibn Al-Qayyim (RA) writes:

“When the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) went to the Musalla (place of prayer), he would perform the Salah without any Adhan or Iqamah and without saying ‘As-Salatu Jami‘ah’ (prayer in congregation). The Sunnah is not to do any of that.”

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) and Jabir (RA) both report that there was no Adhan on the day of the breaking of the fast or on the day of sacrifice.

(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Muslim records that ‘Ata (RA) said:

“Jabir (RA) informed me that there is no Adhan for the ‘Eid of breaking the fast, neither when the Imam arrives nor afterwards. And there is no Iqamah or call of any kind.”

Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas (RA) reports:

“The Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) prayed Salatul ‘Eid without any Adhan or Iqamah. He would deliver two Khutbahs standing and would separate them by sitting between them.”

(Al-Bazzar)

🔸 There Is No Salah Before or After the Eid Salah

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) reports:

“The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) went out to the site of the ‘Eid prayer and prayed two Rak‘ahs [i.e., the ‘Eid prayer] without praying anything before or after it.”

(The Group)

It is reported that Ibn ‘Umar (RA) did the same, and he stated that this was the practice of the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam).

Al-Bukhari records that Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) disliked that one should perform a prayer before Salatul ‘Eid.

Concerning voluntary prayers at such a time, Ibn Hajar (RA) has stated in Fath al-Bari that there is no evidence to show that it is not allowed, unless it is at the times in which it is disliked to pray on any day.

🔸 Eid Salah Consists of Two Rak‘ahs

Umar (RA) reported:

“The traveller’s prayer is two Rak‘ahs, the Adha prayer is two Rak‘ahs, the Fitr prayer (the prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr) is two Rak‘ahs, the Adha prayer is two Rak‘ahs, and this is their full length as came upon the tongue of Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam).”

(Ahmad, An-Nasa’i)

🔸 There Are Six Additional Takbeers in Eid Salah

Hazrat Abu Musa Al-Ash‘ari (RA) was asked regarding the number of Takbeers that Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) used to say in both Eid Salaahs. He replied:

“He (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam) used to say four Takbeers in every Rak‘ah, in the same way as he used to say the Takbeers in Salatul-Janaazah.”

Hazrat Hudhaifah (RA) also confirmed this practice of Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam).

(Abu Dawud, Hadith No. 1153)

End of Today’s Education.

Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illaa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atuubu ilayk.

After several references to our reliable books of Sunnah, the issue of seeing whiteness, grass, plants, paper, milk, etc. in a dream, as indicated in our Episode 14 on Page 6 after performing Istikhaarah, has no basis in Islam.

What we should look forward to is that Allah will ease the better choice for us.

We shall conclude this topic tomorrow, in shaa Allah.

May HE strengthen us and make us steadfast in faith. May HE accept our ‘ibaadah and grant us goodness in this world and the Hereafter.

May Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla forgive us and grant us Jannah.

AAMEEN.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
