FAJR REMINDER: WHEN EVERY WARNING IS REJECTED

Rabī' Al-Akhīr 4, 1448 (16 September 2026)

What happens when warning after warning is ignored? What remains when signs are shown, punishments descend, and yet the heart refuses to bend?

Fir’aun and his people were given repeated warnings. They witnessed one sign after another, yet instead of returning to the truth, they persisted in rebellion and transgression. Even after successive punishments afflicted them, Fir’aun still refused to release the Banī Isrā’īl from his grip.

But when Allāh decrees deliverance, no tyrant can prevent it.

Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) was commanded to journey by night with the Banī Isrā’īl, taking them away from the captivity of Fir’aun. Allāh (ﷻ) says:

وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًا فِي الْبَحْرِ يَبَسًا لَّا تَخَافُ دَرَكًا وَلَا تَخْشَىٰ

“And indeed We inspired Mūsā, saying: ‘Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea, fearing neither to be overtaken nor being afraid.’”
[Sūrah Ṭā-Hā 20:77]

Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) departed with the Banī Isrā’īl. When Fir’aun and his people realized that they had escaped, Fir’aun was enraged. He sent callers throughout the cities and gathered his army from across his kingdom.

Soon, his forces were in pursuit.

The scene appeared terrifying. Ahead of the Banī Isrā’īl was the sea. Behind them was the army of Fir’aun. To the eye, there appeared to be no escape.

Allāh (ﷻ) informs us:

فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ۝ قَالَ كَلَّا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ ۝ فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنِ اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ

“And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Mūsā said, ‘Indeed, we are sure to be overtaken.’ He said, ‘Never! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.’ Then We inspired Mūsā: ‘Strike the sea with your staff.’ So it parted, and each portion became like a great mountain.”
[Sūrah Ash-Shu‘arā’ 26:61–63]

What an extraordinary moment of certainty!

The people saw the approaching army. Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) saw beyond the circumstances and trusted the promise of his Lord.

They saw a sea before them. He knew that the One Who had commanded him to move forward would not abandon him.

Then, by the Command of Allāh, the sea parted.

A path appeared where there had been none.

This is the power of Allāh (ﷻ). What appears impossible to us is never impossible for Him. The circumstances themselves do not limit the Lord of the circumstances. When He wills a matter, He brings about its means in ways beyond our expectation.

The Banī Isrā’īl crossed safely. Fir’aun and his soldiers, however, followed them into the sea. Then the waters closed over them.

The tyrant who had once boasted of his kingdom and power was swallowed by the very waters through which he had pursued the believers.

Allāh (ﷻ) says:

فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ

“So We took retribution from them, and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.”
[Sūrah Al-A‘rāf 7:136]

Allāh destroyed them.

The tyrant who once commanded others became helpless. The one who claimed dominion over his people could not command the sea to spare him. The army that appeared so mighty became powerless before the Decree of Allāh.

And this is one of the great lessons of the story:

Power does not ultimately belong to those who merely possess it. It belongs to Allāh. He gives it, removes it, and brings about His Decree through it as He wills.

So when you find yourself surrounded by difficulties, do not assume that what you see is the end of the story.

When there appears to be no way forward, remember the sea before Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām).

When the circumstances say, “There is no escape,” remember his words:

كَلَّا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ

“Never! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.”

May Allāh (ﷻ) grant us unwavering certainty in Him, deliver us from every hardship, protect us from heedlessness and arrogance, and make a way for us where we see none.
