A Gift For You
[[- Episode 7 -]]-----------------
بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
Jabir (r.a.) said, "We were on a journey and one of us got injured. Later, he had a wet dream. He asked his companions, 'Can I perform tayammum?' They said, 'No, not if you have water.' He performed ghusl and died. When they came to the Prophet (pbuh), they informed him of what had transpired. He said, 'They killed him, Allah will kill them. Do you not ask if you do not know? The rescue of the ignorant person is the question. He could have performed tayammum and dropped water on his wound or wrapped it with something and wipe over the wrapping, and wash the rest of his body." 📚This is related by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, ad-Daraqutni and Ibn as-Sakin, who said it is sahih.
Muslim Faithful!
Sometimes it can be quite hard to get oneself motivated to renew our state of body purity through ablution or purity bath (gusl janabah) during cold weather, but swalat are obligations which must be fulfilled REGARDLESS of the weather conditions.
My People!
Allah (swt) is so so merciful and does not want us to miss-out in rewards. Apart from the above hadeeth, the Quran verse below shed more light:
"But if you are a sick, or on a journey or any of you has come from the toilet, or you have touched women, and you cannot find water then perform tayammum with the clean earth and wipe a part of your faces and your hands with it. Allah does not desire to put you to hardship, but he desires to purify you and to complete His blessings upon you so that you may give thanks”. 📚(Surah Maidah ayat 6).
From the above, it's understood that, before praying, Muslims are required to purify themselves by performing ablution. However, if we are sick or traveling long distances and have difficulty getting water, or the water is available (cold or warm) but using it will cause us harm (health-wise), then, the substitute for Wudu is Tayamum.
This remind me,
Al-Bukhaari narrated in two places 📚(344 and 348) from ‘Imraan ibn Husayn (r.a.) that the prophet (pbuh) saw a man keeping away and not praying with the people. He said, “O so and so, what kept you from praying with the people?” He said, “O Messenger of Allah, I became junub and there is no water.” He said, “You should use clean earth, for it will suffice you.”
Now,
Many Muslims (married & unmarried), missed prayer especially Fajr prayer after having wet dreams or inside bedroom activities all for reasons that the weather is cool and they don't have access to warm water.
You see!
Even if there's availability of warm water to take gusl janabah bath, but using it to take birth will cause harm health-wise, (eg fever and the likes), then, instead of missing Fajr swalah or the Tahajjud prayer, the most merciful creator (Allah) have granted you alternative to do dry ablution (Tayamum).
