A GIFT FOR YOU — Episode 10

A Gift For You

[[- Episode 10 -]]

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

My Brother, My Sister!

This is not just a story from the past. It is a reminder for you, right now.

Let us reflect on two simple but powerful truths.

Truth No. 1: Your Provision Is Already Known to Allah

Your Rizq—your food, wealth, opportunities, marriage, and other provisions—are all within the knowledge and decree of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

Nothing that Allah has decreed for you will miss you, and nothing that He has not decreed for you will reach you.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Know that what has befallen you could not have missed you, and what has missed you could not have befallen you.”

So does this mean we should stop making Du‘ā?

Absolutely not!

This is where we need to understand Qadr correctly.

Your Du‘ā is itself part of Allah's decree. Allah knows what you will ask for, when you will ask, and what He will give you in response. Your effort, your Du‘ā, and the outcome are all within His perfect knowledge and wisdom.

Sometimes Allah gives you exactly what you ask for. Sometimes He delays it because the time is not right. Sometimes He gives you something better. And sometimes He protects you from harm through your Du‘ā.

Therefore, never stop asking Allah.

Do not think, “If it is already written, why should I make Du‘ā?”

Rather, say:

“Perhaps my Du‘ā is one of the means Allah has written for me to receive what I am asking for.”

So keep asking. Keep hoping. Keep trusting Allah.

Truth No. 2: Look at Your Blessings, Not Only Your Problems

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:

كٓهيعٓصٓ

“Kaf, Ha, Ya, ‘Ayn, Sad.”

Then Allah says:

ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُ زَكَرِيَّا

“[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zakariyya.”
📖 Qur’an 19:1–2

When we read the story of Prophet Zakariyya عليه السلام, we should ask ourselves:

Was Allah's mercy only for Zakariyya?

Of course not.

Allah's mercy is vast, and we should never become so overwhelmed by our problems that we forget the countless blessings surrounding us.

Sometimes, changing our perspective can help us recognise blessings we have stopped noticing.

(1) If your marriage is delayed, remember that being alive, having health, faith, family, and opportunities to worship Allah are themselves enormous blessings.

(2) If you have been married for years without children, remember that your spouse, your home, your companionship, and every day Allah gives you together are blessings worthy of gratitude. And never forget that Allah is capable of granting what seems impossible.

(3) If your marriage has failed, do not conclude that your life has failed. A painful chapter is not necessarily the end of your story. Allah can bring goodness from situations we never expected.

(4) And never lose hope in Allah's power.

The stories of the Prophets teach us that difficult circumstances do not mean Allah has abandoned His servant.

Look at Prophet Ayyub عليه السلام. Look at Prophet Zakariyya عليه السلام. Look at the many servants of Allah whose difficulties were followed by relief.

My People,

The Prophets were not people who lived without trials.

They experienced pain, hardship, loneliness, fear, and difficult circumstances. Yet they remained connected to Allah.

Prophet Zakariyya عليه السلام grew old while longing for a child, but he did not allow his circumstances to convince him that Allah's mercy was beyond reach.

He called upon his Lord.

And Allah answered him.

So, my brother and my sister, do not read the stories of the Prophets merely as stories from the past.

Read them as lessons for your own life.

(A) Trust Allah's Plan

Work hard. Take the permissible means. Make plans. But do not allow what you lack to destroy your heart.

What Allah has decreed for you will reach you.

And if something is delayed, remember that Allah knows what you do not know.

(B) Never Stop Making Du‘ā

Keep asking Allah.

Ask Him when things are going well. Ask Him when life becomes difficult. Ask Him when you see no way forward.

Never underestimate the power of turning sincerely to your Lord.

(C) Count Your Blessings, Not Only Your Problems

When sadness comes, pause and look around you.

Think about the blessings you have become accustomed to.

Your life. Your faith. Your family. Your ability to breathe. Your ability to pray. Your ability to repent. The food you eat. The people who love you. The opportunities Allah continues to place before you.

You may be facing a mountain of problems, but you are still surrounded by blessings.

And above everything else, Allah's mercy is greater than your difficulties.

So keep going.

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Keep thanking Allah.

The door you think is closed may only be waiting for the right moment to open.

This is the path to a peaceful heart: trusting Allah, making Du‘ā, recognising His blessings, and never giving up hope in His mercy.

May Allah make us among those who remain patient during hardship, grateful during ease, and hopeful in every situation.

Aameen.

To be continued...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
