'Amr ibn al-'Aas narrated that he was participating in an expedition. He had a wet dream during an extremely cold night, and was afraid that if he performed ghusl he would die. He prayed the morning prayer with his companions. He then went to the Prophet (pbuh) to ask him about this. The Prophet (pbuh) said, "O 'Amr, did you pray with your companions while you needed a post-nocturnal bath?" 'Amr mentioned the verse, *"Do not kill yourselves, Allah is merciful to you"* to the Prophet. The Prophet (pbuh) just laughed and didn't say anything. 📚(Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Hakim, ad-Daraqutni, Ibn Hibban and al-Bukhari in mu'allaq form.)

▪️The above example illustrated the Prophet's tacit approval.

▪️Sometimes, the husband is not feeling too strong (health-wise), yet, the wife may knock on him to do the needful inside bedroom and he should not decline (if he can manage to satisfy her desire). Yes. If a companion who is not too strong (health-wise) participating in an expedition is allowed to perform Tayamum, then, husband or wife who have difficulty using water should not miss their swalah for any reason.

▪️The swalat established with dry ablution (tayammum) *should not be repeated* after the gusl janabah path.

Now,

*When do we take janabah birth after wet dreams and when do we not take janabah birth after wet dreams?*

In a nutshell,

(1) If one sleep off and doesn’t remember having a wet dream BUT *"sees discharge"*, there are two rulings:

a - he/she must do ghusl if he/she believes the discharge could be sexual fluid from an ejaculation/orgasm; i.e. the mere possibility of the discharge being sexual fluid, then, this is enough to make ghusl necessary.

b - If he/she knows that the fluid is madhy, then, he/she does not have to do ghusl.

(2) If there is no discharge, even if one remembers having a wet dream, he/she is not obliged to do ghusl.

Evidence:

Aisha (r.a.) said: The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alihi wasalam, was asked about a man who notices some wetness but does not remember having a wet dream. He (the Prophet) said, *“He should do ghusl.”* He (the Prophet) was asked about a man who thinks that he had an erotic dream but does not see any wetness. He (the Prophet) said, *“He does not have to do ghusl.”* Umm Salamah said, “O Messenger of Allah, does a woman have to do ghusl if she sees something like that?” He (the Prophet) said, *“Yes, women are the twin halves of men.”* 📚(Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood)

Now,

*Description of At-Tayamum:*

1 - Strike the soil with both hands, once (with the intention of gusl janabah done inside your heart, not verbally).

2 - Then blow into the palms of the hands to reduce the particles therein.

3 - Next wipe the face with the palms, once.

4 - Then wipe the back of both hands, by wiping the back of the right hand with the palm of the left and vice versa.

The proof for at-tayammum and its description is the hadeeth of Ammar. He said: “Indeed the Prophet (pbuh) struck the earth lightly with the palms of his hands, then blew in them (to blow off the extra dust) and wiped his face and hands with them.” 📚[agreed upon]
