FAJR REMINDER: NO ONE SAVES EXCEPT ALLĀH

Rabīʿ Al-Akhīr 8, 1448 (20-September-2026)

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

What if the very thing you are trusting to protect you is pulling you away from the One Who has the power to protect you?

While you are hanging an amulet for protection, wearing a charm against evil, or running to a magician because you fear what someone may do to you, have you forgotten the One Who protected you before you could even pronounce His Name?

Consider Prophet Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām).

Before he was born, Firʿaun had ordered the killing of the male children among Banī Isrāʾīl. Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām) was only a helpless infant. His mother could not overpower Firʿaun. His family could not defeat his army. No human being could guarantee that this newborn child would survive.

But Mūsā had a Protector—Allāh.

Allāh inspired his mother to nurse him, and when she feared for him, to place him in the river. Allāh promised her that He would return him to her and make him one of His Messengers.

Firʿaun had a plan, but Allāh's decree prevailed.

Firʿaun had soldiers, but Allāh had absolute power.

Firʿaun wanted to destroy Mūsā, but Allāh preserved him.

And when Allāh wills to protect His servant, no created being can overturn His decree.

Years later, the same Prophet Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām) found himself facing another seemingly impossible situation.

Firʿaun and his army were pursuing him, while the sea stood before him.

Behind him was an enemy determined to destroy him.

Before him was an obstacle he could not cross by ordinary means.

Yet Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām) trusted in Allāh.

Then Allāh opened a path where none appeared to exist.

The sea parted.

The believers crossed safely.

Firʿaun and his army followed.

And the same sea that became a path of salvation for the believers became a means of destruction for their enemies.

Allāh (ﷻ) says:

فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ الْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ

“So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that which covered them.”

[Sūrah Ṭā-Hā 20:78]

What a powerful lesson!

The One Who saved Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām) from Firʿaun when he was an infant saved him from Firʿaun again when he stood before the sea.

So ask yourself:

When fear comes, where do you go?

When you fear an enemy, whom do you seek?

When you suspect that someone has harmed you, whom do you call?

Do you turn to Allāh or to Shayṭān?

Do you place your trust in the Creator or in an object hanging from your neck, your house, your shop, or your car?

Do you seek Allāh's protection—or do you seek protection through forbidden means?

Let us remember:

Allāh's decree will prevail, even when the wicked make their plans.

The one who possesses worldly power possesses nothing independently of Allāh. Every created power is under the authority of the One Who owns absolute power.

Think about your own life.

How many dangers have you escaped without ever knowing they existed?

How many harmful plans were made against you that never reached you?

How many times did Allāh protect you from something you never even saw coming?

Perhaps there were people who wished you had never been born.

Perhaps someone looked at a blessing Allāh gave your parents in you and wished that blessing had never come.

Perhaps there were dangers you never saw and plots you never heard about.

But you are here.

Why?

Because Allāh allowed you to be here and protected you through means known and unknown to you.

Before your little hands could defend you, He was watching over you.

Before your tongue could call upon Him, He knew your every need.

Before you knew the difference between an enemy and a friend, He knew every danger surrounding you.

So why, after Allāh has brought you this far, would you place your trust in magic?

Why would you seek protection through means that contradict Tawḥīd when the Lord of the heavens and the earth is sufficient for you?

Why exchange certainty for deception?

Why exchange Tawḥīd for Shirk?

Why run to creation when the Creator is near?

Abdullāh ibn Masʿūd (Raḍiyallāhu ʿAnhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

إِنَّ الرُّقَى وَالتَّمَائِمَ وَالتِّوَلَةَ شِرْكٌ

“Indeed, incantations, amulets and love-potions are shirk.”

His wife, Zaynab (Raḍiyallāhu ʿAnhā), then mentioned an incident involving an eye ailment and a Jewish man who would perform an incantation for her. Ibn Masʿūd (Raḍiyallāhu ʿAnhu) explained that the relief she experienced was not proof that such a practice was permissible, and he taught her the supplication of the Prophet (ﷺ):

أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

“Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.”

[Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3883]

The lesson is not that a Muslim should abandon legitimate treatment or permissible Sharʿī ruqyah. Rather, our hearts must remain attached to Allāh, knowing that every benefit and every healing ultimately comes from Him.

What we need is Allāh's help.

So do not let fear drive you away from the One Whom you should obey and rely upon.

Do not allow an unseen fear to make you seek help through forbidden means.

Do not let the whispers of Shayṭān convince you that Allāh is insufficient.

Remember Prophet Mūsā (ʿAlayhi Salām).

There was a time when he was a helpless infant, surrounded by the danger of Firʿaun.

Allāh saved him.

There was a time when he stood before the sea with an army behind him.

Allāh saved him.

And there may be moments in your own life when you look around and see nothing but danger, closed doors, enemies, and an impossible path ahead.

Remember the sea.

The sea was not the end of Mūsā's story.

It was where Allāh demonstrated that when He commands and wills something, what appears impossible to us can become a path to safety.

So when you have nowhere to turn, turn to Allāh.

If you have no strength left, call upon Allāh.

If the world seems to have abandoned you, remember that Allāh has not abandoned you.

And if every door appears closed, do not run to Shayṭān looking for another door.

Raise your hands to the One Who owns every door.

For the One Who protected you when you could not protect yourself is the One Who is able to protect you now.

Allāh is sufficient for me.

May Allāh (ﷻ) never make us seek from Shayṭān what belongs to Him alone.

May He cleanse our hearts from every form of Shirk, strengthen our Tawḥīd, protect us from the deception of Shayṭān, and make us among those whose hearts rely upon Him with complete certainty.
