A. Introduction: There are many days set aside in non-Islamic societies to honour and appreciate special people; examples of these are Father's Day, Mother's Day, Memorial Day and Labour Day. In Islam, however, respecting, honouring and appreciating parents is not just for a single day of the year, but rather for each and every day. B. Parents in the Quran: A Muslim child should respect and appreciate his or her parents on a daily basis. Allah mentions that human beings must recognise their parents and that this is second only to the recognition of Allah Himself. Throughout the Quran, we notice that parents are mentioned with appreciation and respect, even if they are senile. In the Quran, there is a very beautiful description of how parents are to be treated; Allah Says (what means): "And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Prophet Nuh called out to his people to believe in one creator for over 900 years but only a few believed him. Nuh was still patient. Sometimes we call someone to the truth, or we want our friends, family members, children to stay on the right path. Suddenly we become angry and stopped calling them. How impatient is that... 😁 Prophet Nuh called for 900 years but had less than 200 followers. So when you call out to people be patient and pray for them. It is Allah who guides. ALLAH the Most high, says, “Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to them ALLAH will give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and ALLAH will bestow on such people their reward according to the best of their actions.”[Al Qur’an 16:97]. Over 1436 years ago, when a child was born, Prophet MUHAMMAD ﷺ  made it his practice to take a small part of a date and place it in his mouth. *He would then chew it until it was soft and then rub it onto the palate of the new born baby*. *This is called Tahneek in Islam*.
