Guidelines To Intimacy In Islam

Dye
It is also permissible, rather recommended, for a man to dye the hair of his head and beard, provided the ingredients used in the hair-dye are Halaal. The best form of hair dye to be applied to the head or beard is henna.
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr relates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:
'The best dye to change [one's] old age (grey hair), is henna (a red plant dye) and katm (a type of grass-Katam is a plant that is used to dye the hair. When mixed with henna it gives the hair a colour between black and red.)." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 1753 and others)
However, using pure black hair-dye is not permitted or at the least disliked according to most Hanafi and Shafi jurists (fuqaha), even for the purpose of adorning oneself for one's wife. (Radd al-Mukhtar and Al-Majmu')
Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
" ... Abstain from using black dye." (Sahih Muslim 2102)
The hair which grows on the cheeks or throat of a man is not considered to be part of his beard, for a beard is that which grows on the jawbone. As such, it is permitted for a man to remove hair from the cheeks by shaving or trimming it.
(Radd al-Mukhtar 6:407 and Al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya 5:358)
So even if the wife wants her husband to look young, by asking him to dye his hair black, he should not do so for this violates the command of Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Similarly, if the wife wishes for her husband to don the latest hair styles that has been prohibited by Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم ,then this too should not be done, for it violates the command of Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم.
