 The dignity of honouring our neighbours.

Alhamdulillah, being kind to our neighbours is part of the teachings of Islam

Allah says in Qur'an,

An-Nisa' 4:36

Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful,

We have neighbours closer to us and those who are our travellers company.

The messenger of Allah pbuh said the neighbours are those who forty at right, left, east and south.

'A'isha reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Jibril, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, kept on recommending that I treat neighbours well until I thought that he would order me to treat them as my heirs."

 Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 101.

Abu Shurayh al-Khuza'i reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be good to his neighbours. Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous to his guest. Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be say what is good or be silent."

Anyone who does honour and protect the right of his neighbor is not a believer.

Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked his Companions about fornication and they said, "It is unlawful. Allah and His Messenger have made it unlawful." He said, "It is less serious for a man to fornicate with ten women than for him to fornicate with his neighbour's wife." Then he asked them about stealing. They replied, "It is unlawful. Allah and His Messenger have made it unlawful." He said, "It is less serious for a man to steal from ten houses than it is for him to steal from his neighbour's house."

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 102.

Subhanallah to fornicate with our neighbour's wife or daughter is greater zina that with a prostitute because we have defile the right of neighborhood between us.
