 The evil eye and seeking refuge from him.

Alhamdulillah, the evil eye العين is something that is real and exist.

The evidence is from the Qur'an when prophet yakub a.s told his sons not to enter into one gate.

Allah says,

Yusuf 12:67

And he said, "O my sons, do not enter from one gate but enter from different gates; and I cannot avail you against [the decree of] Allah at all. The decision is only for Allah; upon Him I have relied, and upon Him let those who would rely [indeed] rely."

Ayesha r.a narrated saying,

The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered me or somebody else to do Ruqya (if there was danger) from an evil eye.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5738.

Umm salama r.a reported saying,

that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw in her house a girl whose face had a black spot. He said. "She is under the effect of an evil eye; so treat her with a Ruqya."

Sahih al-Bukhari 5739.

Ibn Abbas r.a said,

The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take bath.

Even the one who has that do not know and this is due to hasad that evil eye can catch a person.

The remedy is reciting Quran, making adhkar and if one is caught by it should bath from the ablution of the person who infected it.

Or make ruqyah in water and drink it.
