*Reasons To Let Go*
[[----------2️⃣------------]]بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Forgiveness is given to someone who does NOT deserve it.. And you CHOOSE to forgive it instead of taking the revenge. Yes. You COULD take revenge but you chose to become a bigger person and let go of it.
Slaves of Allah!
The reality on the issue of forgiving people who wronged us even without apologizing is bringing it into practice. To be really honest with yourself, have you always forgiven others for the wrongs they’ve done to you? Or have you just said, *“I forgive you,”* while ill feelings lingered in your heart?
We all know that,
Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. Yes. And a healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead.
But,
Allah knows it can be very hard to really forgive someone who hurt you. But the verse below gives us motivation to push ourselves to forgive.
*Reason Number 2:*
We should push harder to forgive because we want Allah (swt) to forgive us too.
*Evidence:*
".وَلْيَعْفُوا۟ وَلْيَصْفَحُوٓا۟ ۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
“and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” 📚[Quran 24:22]
Now,
Allah ‘azza wajal is telling us here what the big motivator is for us suppressing our nafs (ego) and forgiving other people, even when they don’t even ask for our forgiveness. Yes. We do it for Allah.
Servants of Allah!
When we think of forgiveness, we mostly think of Allah’s forgiveness and we forget how important it is that we also forgive others. How can we expect Allah (swt) to forgive us, while we are not even willing to forgive others?
*The narration below will motivate you - In shaa Allah:*
When Mistah ibn Uthaathah indulged in gossip during the slander incident (al-ifk), and Allah sent down revelation confirming the innocence of ‘Aa’ishah (RA), Abu Bakr (the father of Aa'ishah), who had been spending on Mistah because he was his relative and was poor, said: By Allah, I shall never spend anything on Mistah again after what he said about my daughter ‘Aa’ishah. Then Allah revealed the words:
"....and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you?..” 📚an-Noor 24:22
Abu Bakr said: Yes indeed, by Allah, I would like Allah to forgive me. So he resumed spending on Mistah as he used to do, and he said: By Allah, I shall never deprive him of it. 📚This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhaari (4381) and Muslim (4974).
*Lesson To Take:*
Undoubtedly, Allah does not bestow such a great characteristic upon anyone except the elite and best of His creation. The Muslim should take the righteous as his example. What could be more difficult than having a poor relative on whom you spend and whom you treat kindly, then he casts aspersions on your honour by speaking ill of it? Yet despite that, Abu Bakr resumed spending on Mistah (may Allah be pleased with them both) and swore that he would never stop doing so. This can only be due to his purity of heart and his love of doing good, pardoning and forgiving, otherwise he would not have sworn to never stop spending on him.
