*THE ATTITUDE OF A LIFE PARTNER*


"Do not get angry, do not get angry, do not get angry." [Hadīth]


The righteous believing woman does not exhaust her husband with too many requests. She is content with which Allāh has decreed for her. Her example in that is the family of the Messenger of Allāh (Blessings and Peace be upon him). 'Urwah narrated from his maternal aunt 'Ā'ishah (may Allāh be pleased with her) that she used to say: "By Allāh, O' son of my brother! We watched the new moon come, then the next, then the next, three new moons in two months, and no fire was lit in the houses of the Messenger of Allāh." I said: "O' aunt! What did you live on?" She said: "The two black ones, dates and water. But the Messenger of Allāh had some neighbours among the Ansār, (Madīnan Muslims who helped the Makkan Muslim migrants). They had goats, so they used to send some of their milk to the Messenger of Allāh and he gave it to us to drink."
