*Types of Dead Animals that are permissible.*
Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger said,
“Two types of dead animals and two types of blood have been made lawful for us. The two types of dead animals are seafood and locusts, and the two types of blood are(tbe blood of) the liver and the spleen.” Related by Ahmad and Ibn Majah but with a weak chain of narrators.
This implies that any other dead animal that is not listed in this category is considered haram based on the following ayah:
[2.173] He has only forbidden you what dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that over which any other (name) than (that of) Allah has been invoked; but whoever is driven to necessity, not desiring, nor exceeding the limit, no sin shall be upon him; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
