*During Tough Times*
[[--- 12th Outing ---]]-----------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Did you know what motivated Prophet Zakariyyah (a.s) to keep pushing it in Du'a making, asking Allah (swt) to grant them children despite his predicament and that of his wife? Maybe the story below will motivate all of us to make Du'a anytime we see Allah's hand work in somebody's life. This is because, all Provisions is From Allah
*Brief story:*
Maryam (a.s) was placed in the care of Prophet Zakariyya (a.s), who was her uncle (the husband of her maternal aunt). This was because Hannah had vowed to ‘set her free’ so she could devote her life to serving the Masjid. 📚[Tafseer Ibn Katheer]
As Maryam (a.s) grew up, she naturally spent a lot of time in secluded worship. Closed away in her private prayer room, Zakariyya (a.s) was amazed that there was always food coming into the room through unknown source: *Scholars have said, 'Zakariyyah would find her with the fruits of the summer during winter, and the fruits of the winter during summer’*. 📚[Tafseer Ibn Katheer]
It is no surprise that Zakariyyah (a.s) was amazed to find that his secluded niece had access to fruits out of season! But Maryam’s (a.s) simple statement each time Zakariyyah asked her *‘It is from Allah’* - is a testament to her absolute trust that she was in Allah’s care.
Interestingly, the Qur’an narrates that, after Zakariyyah (a.s) spoke to Maryam (as) about this provision, he immediately made du’a himself for a righteous child, even though he was very old and his wife at the time was barren... Allah answered his du’a immediately whilst he was still standing praying to Him, and gave him the good news of a son, who would be called Yahya (as).
Therefore,
My brother My sister! - Your provision (Rizq) was determined even before you were born!
So,
No matter what happens, you will always receive the Rizq that Allah has destined for you. And this does not mean that Du'a making is useless. Yes. Your provisions and the Du'a you are making are both Qadr (predestination). Yes. Allah (swt) will write that - *"if my so so servant make Du'a on so so thing, i will give it to him/her, and if he or she did not make Du'a on so so thing, i will not give it to him or her*😃. So you can see that both are Qadr
