The dignity of taqwa.
Alhamdulillah, At-Taqwa meaning tuqaah meaning precaution or safety.
This is what Allah starts mostly when calling mankind to have a fear of Allah.
Allah says,
An-Nisa' 4:1
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allāh, through whom[1] you ask one another,[2] and the wombs.[3] Indeed Allāh is ever,[4] over you, an Observer.[5]
Taqwa is a sign of a believer.
Allah says,
Al-Hajj 22:1
O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing.
So we need to fear Allah as that is the source of happiness..
Taqwa means to fear Allah publicly and privately and not only seeing people.
Even if one is indoor and is not among peoples should fear his lord.
Allah instructed all the prophets and including their people to fear him.
One companion, Ubayy ibn ka'b radiya Allahu anh was asked about taqwa and he said,
To walk in a thorns of forest and one makes precaution so that the prick will not cut his body, that is taqwa.
Meaning when one is in a place where peoples sins alot and move away or protect himself also, that is taqwa.
Taqwa is the source of everything and is in the heart but appears outside.
As reported in the hadith,
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Do not envy one another, and do not inflate prices for one another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another, and do not undercut one another in trade, but [rather] be slaves of Allah and brothers [amongst yourselves]. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he fail him, nor does he lie to him, nor does he hold him in contempt. Taqwa (piety) is right here [and he pointed to his chest three times]. It is evil enough for a manto hold his brother Muslim in contempt. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour.” [Muslim]
40 Hadith Nawawi 35.
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah was asked about that for which people are admitted into Paradise themost, so he said:
Taqwa of Allah, and good character." And he was asked about that for which people are admitted into the Firethe most, and he said: " The mouth and the private parts."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2004.
Taqwa is everything and if one has it, Allah will safeguard him from every evil and trouble he will face in life.
May Allah S.W.T safeguard and grants us faith(Eeman).
Aamin
