The importance of reciting the Quran.
Alhamdulillah, reciting of the Quran has a great reward.
Allah says,
Al-Baqarah 2:121
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital.[1] They [are the ones who] believe in it. And whoever disbelieves in it - it is they who are the losers.
It is not reciting Quran alone but pondering and acting upon it.
As reported in hadith,
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is aletter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." [At- Tirmidhi].
Riyad us saliheen.
Book 9, Hadith 9.
Narrated Muhammad bin Ka'b Al-Qurazi
I heard 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud saying: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah's Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif isa letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter."
Vol. 5, Book 42, Hadith 2910
Jami'at At Tirmidhee.
Reciting Quran is very rewarding as Allah s.w.t sent it to be recited and pondered upon it.
The Quran can act as an intercession on the day of qiyaamah.
As reported in hadith,
The Quran and fasting will intercede for the person on the day of qiyaamah.
Sahih.
May Allah make us among the people of Quran. Aamin
