BismilLah.  Let's begin with our studies of this suurah. Please read the historical/ background and context from yesterday's reminder first. Verse 1. غټش وتوڏ "He frowned and turned away." Meaning: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi frowned and turned his attention elsewhere. Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal begins with a gentle but powerful correction. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam  did not speak harshly, nor did he insult the blind Companion. Yet ALLAH Azzawajal cared about the feelings and dignity of a believer seeking guidance. Verse 2. أن جاءۀ الأغفى "Because the blind man came to him." Meaning: The reason for the frown was the arrival of the blind Companion.  *_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Arba'a | 16th day of Muharram, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 1st July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH ABASA, QUR'AN 80_*. BismilLah.  Suurah ‘Abasa was revealed in Makkah. The opening verses refer to an incident involving the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a blind Companion, ‘Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum. One day, the Prophet ﷺ was speaking with some influential leaders of Quraysh, hoping that they might accept Islam and that their acceptance would strengthen the Muslim community. During this conversation, Ibn Ummĥĥɓ Maktum رضي الله عنه came seeking guidance and asking the Prophet ﷺ to teach him from what ALLAH had taught him. Because the Prophet ﷺ was focused on the leaders, he frowned slightly and turned away momentarily from the blind man. A husband may at times find his wife difficult due to disagreements, emotional challenges, misunderstandings, or differences in personality, financial issues etc. During such moments, the believer should remember that his true objective is not to "win" every argument, but to earn the pleasure of ALLAH Azzawajal. Allāh says: “They (spouse) are Libās (i.e. garment) for you and you are the same for them.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2): 187] Imām al-Qurṭubī (Raḥimahullāh) commented: “Allāh used the following words to describe marriage as the same as wearing one's clothes to protect oneself from the cold and heat; similarly marriage is a means of safeguarding oneself from sins. Sometimes a wife may find herself married to a husband who is difficult, harsh, neglectful, or lacking in good manners. At such times, Shayṭān seeks to create hatred, anger, and disobedience. The believing wife should remember that her ultimate goal is not merely pleasing her husband, but pleasing ALLAH Azzawajal. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "Live with them in kindness." (Qur'an 4:19). Many people would naturally reply, “Because Allāh commanded us to pray.” While that answer is true, it only scratches the surface. There is a deeper wisdom behind the five daily prayers. Why did Allāh prescribe them at specific times throughout the day? To understand this, we must first realize that Ṣalāh is not a burden imposed on us because Allāh needs our worship. He is completely free of all needs. Rather, we are the ones in need of the prayers. Ṣalāh is one of the greatest gifts Allāh has bestowed upon His servants. Their stories are not old tales. They are Allah's way of teaching you how to live today. Here is how. Sometimes, things don't go your way. You feel sad. This is where your test begins. Look at Prophet Zakariyyah (A.S). He wanted a child. He prayed for a child for so, so long. But did he stopped making Du'a? No! He never gave up on Allah.  FAJR REMINDER: TIE YOUR CAMEL AND TRUST IN ALLĀH By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 12, 1448 (27-June-2026)   When Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) set out on his migration from Makkah to Madīnah, he demonstrated the importance of careful planning and making use of available means. Since he had never travelled the route before, he hired a highly skilled guide, ‘Abdullāh Ibn Urayqit, who had not yet accepted Islām. Despite his disbelief at the time, he was chosen because of his honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, and exceptional knowledge of the hidden desert routes. It is worth reflecting on the fact that Allāh had the power to make the journey effortless for His Messenger. He could have sent Angel Jibrīl (‘Alaykum Salām) to guide him directly or inspired him with the exact route to Madīnah. Yet, Allāh chose not to do so. BismilLah.  Let's conclude with our studies of this beautiful suurah At-Takwīr: Verses 26–29 فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ ۝٢٦ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ ۝٢٧ لِمَن شَاءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ ۝٢٨ وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝٢٩ 26. "So where are you going?" 27. "It is nothing but a reminder to all the worlds," 28. "For whoever among you wishes to take the straight path." 29. "But you cannot will unless ALLAH, the Lord of all the worlds, wills." Commentary: These concluding verses summarize the central message of the suurah.
