*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaum Al-khamis | 17th day of Muharram, 1448 AH | Thursday, 2nd July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH ABASA, QUR'AN 80 continues_*. BismilLah.
Let's begin with our studies of this suurah. Please read the historical/ background and context from yesterday's reminder first.
Verse 1.
غټش وتوڏ
"He frowned and turned away."
Meaning: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi frowned and turned his attention elsewhere. Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal begins with a gentle but powerful correction. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
did not speak harshly, nor did he insult the blind Companion. Yet ALLAH Azzawajal cared about the feelings and dignity of a believer seeking guidance.
Verse 2.
أن جاءۀ الأغفى
"Because the blind man came to him." Meaning: The reason for the frown was the arrival of the blind Companion. Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal mentions the man's blindness not as a deficiency but to highlight that he could not even see the Prophet's facial expression. Despite that, ALLAH Azzawajal still defended his honour.
Verse 3.
ۊما ݔذريك ڷعله يݫك
'And what could make you know that perhaps he might be purified?"
Meaning: You do not know; perhaps he may grow in purity and righteousness. Commentary: Guidance is in ALLAH’S hands. The person who appears weak or insignificant may become spiritually great. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences and grant us beneficial knowledge_*. Aameen.
