NOTHING ESCAPES HIS PEN

FAJR REMINDER: NOTHING ESCAPES HIS PEN

By: Umm Affān

Muḥarram 21, 1448 (6-July-2026)

Dear brethren! One of the greatest comforts a believer can ever possess is the certainty that nothing in this universe happens randomly. Every smile and tear, every gain and loss, every ease and hardship, every meeting and farewell—all of them have already been written by the Most Wise, the Most Merciful. When this reality settles in the heart, anxiety begins to fade, complaints become fewer, and reliance upon Allāh grows stronger.

We must therefore know and believe with absolute certainty that Allāh wrote all matters fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth. That is the comprehensive decree encompassing everything that will occur until eternity. There is also the annual decree on Laylatul-Qadr (the Night of Qadr), during which the affairs of the coming year are apportioned by Allāh's Command. Furthermore, while each of us is still in our mother's womb, four matters concerning our lives are written. How perfect is the Knowledge of our Lord! How magnificent is His Wisdom! Indeed, Allāh is Great.

The second level of understanding Al-Qadar is Al-Kitābah (The Writing). The Qalam (Pen), by Allāh's Permission and according to His Perfect Knowledge, wrote everything in Al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ (The Preserved Tablet). Allāh (ﷻ) says: “Know you not that Allāh knows all that is in heaven and on earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al-Lawḥ al-Maḥfūẓ). Verily, that is easy for Allāh.” [Sūrah Al-Ḥajj (22): 70]

Nothing has ever happened, nor will anything ever happen, except that it has already been recorded in that Preserved Tablet. Not a single heartbeat, not a single provision, not a single calamity, not a single blessing escapes the Writing of Allāh. ‘Ubādah Ibn aṣ-Ṣāmit reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Verily, the first to be created by Allāh was the pen. Allāh told it to write, so it wrote all that will exist until forever.” [Sunan At-Tirmidhī 3319]

Reflect upon this! If everything has already been written by the Lord of the worlds, then why should we allow our hearts to be consumed by fear of tomorrow? Why should we become impatient over delayed provisions or lose hope when life unfolds differently from our expectations? The One who wrote your decree is also the Most Merciful, the Most Just, and the Most Wise. He never wrongs His servants, and He never decrees except with perfect wisdom, even when that wisdom remains hidden from us.

Know also that no created being knows what has been written by the Pen in the Preserved Tablet—not even the angels who are nearest to Allāh. The knowledge of the unseen belongs to Allāh alone. He knows every place, every moment, every event, and every outcome before they come into existence. Therefore, never allow yourself to be deceived by fortune tellers, soothsayers, or those who boast of possessing hidden knowledge. Likewise, do not believe those who claim they have seen your Qadar or that they possess the power to alter what Allāh has written for you. Such claims only weaken one's Tawḥīd and diminish reliance upon the Lord of the heavens and the earth.

Place your trust where it truly belongs—with Allāh alone. Be certain that what has been written for you will never miss you, no matter how impossible it may seem. Likewise, what was never written for you can never become yours, no matter how desperately you pursue it. No blessing reaches you except by Allāh's permission, and no harm befalls you except by His Decree. Nothing escapes His Knowledge, nothing overcomes His Will, and nothing occurs outside His perfect Decree.

So let your heart find peace. Continue Du'ā', striving in obedience, taking the lawful means, and placing your complete trust in Allāh. For the One Who wrote your destiny is the same Lord who loves those who rely upon Him.

I beseech Allāh (ﷻ) to fill our hearts with certainty in His Decree, strengthen our reliance upon Him alone, and increase us in beneficial knowledge, sincere faith, and abundant goodness in this world and the Hereafter. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
