*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaum As-sabt | 11th day of Swafar, 1448 AH | Saturday, 25th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah.
Assalaamu Alaikum WarahmatulLah. Today, we continue our study of Suurah An-Naazi'aat (Qur'an 79) Verses 4 and 5. In these opening verses from verses 1-5, ALLAH Azzawajal swears by groups of HIS noble Angels, each of whom has been entrusted with specific duties in carrying out HIS commands. These oaths are not because ALLAH is in need of swearing, but to draw our attention to the greatness of what is about to be mentioned from verse 6 going.
The scholars of Tafsīr explain that whenever ALLAH Azzawajal swears by any of HIS creation in the Qur'an, it highlights the importance of the subject that follows. Such oaths prepare the listener for a profound truth, a solemn warning, or a momentous event that deserves careful reflection.
As we will begin studying from verse 6 tomorrow, in shaa ALLAH, the focus of the sūrah shifts to the terrifying events that will unfold at the onset of the Day of Resurrection. These verses serve as a powerful reminder of the certainty of the Hereafter and the need to prepare for our meeting with HIM, ALLAH Azzawajal.
May ALLAH (Azzawajal) grant us beneficial knowledge, sincere understanding of the Qur'an, and the ability to act upon what we learn. Aameen.
Verse 4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
"Then those Angels who race ahead." Meaning, the Angels hasten to fulfil ALLAH'S commands before anything else. Some scholars also mention that they race with the souls of believers toward the mercy of ALLAH Azzawajal. This verse highlights the perfect obedience and eagerness of the Angels.
They never procrastinate or question ALLAH'S command as some of us do. AstaghfirulLah.
Verse 5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
"Then those Angels who arrange every matter." Meaning, ALLAH Azzawajal entrusts different groups of Angels with different responsibilities in the universe.
These include: Angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) delivering revelation. Angel Mikā'īl (Michael) overseeing rain and vegetation. Angel Isrāfīl who will blow the Trumpet. The Angel of Death and his helpers taking souls.
Angels recording deeds. Angels protecting people by ALLAH'S permission etc. They only carry out ALLAH’S decree, they possess no independent power.
ALLAH Azzawajal says:
"...those who regulate affairs by HIS command." (Qur'an 13:2). ALLAHU AKBAR. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.
