Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah from verse 17 which speaks about Human creation and ingratitude. After describing the greatness of the Qur'an from verses 11-16, ALLAH Azzawajal now turns our attention to human beings and our astonishing ingratitude despite the countless blessings bestowed upon us.

Verse 17: "Destroyed is man! How ungrateful he is!" This is serious and a powerful expression of condemnation against the disbeliever who knowingly rejects ALLAH'S blessings and guidance.

The phrase "How ungrateful he is!" refers to disbelief (kufr) and ingratitude. The same human being who depends on ALLAH Azzawajal for every breath often denies or forgets HIS countless favours.

ALLAH Azzawajal is not condemning every human being indiscriminately, but rather those who persist in rejecting HIM despite clear signs.


Verse 18: "From what thing did HE create him?"

ALLAH Azzawajal asks a rhetorical question to humble mankind.

What is the origin of the human being who behaves so arrogantly?

Can someone who began with such a humble origin truly have reason to be proud before ALLAH Azzawajal?

This question invites reflection on our weakness and complete dependence upon our Creator. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
