*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaum athalaatha | 15th day of Muharram, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 30th June, 2026. *_A FINAL REMINDER TO EVERY HUSBAND AND WIFE_*. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem.
Based on our topic for the past 2 days, let's be reminded that Marriage in Islam is an act of worship (ʿIbaadah), not merely a social contract or a relationship based on emotions. It is one of the greatest trusts that ALLAH Azzawajal places upon two believers. It can become a source of immense blessings in this world and the Hereafter, or it can become a source of hardship and regret if the rights of one another are neglected.
ALLAH Azzawajal says:
"And among HIS signs is that HE created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find tranquillity in them, and HE placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for people who reflect." (Qur'an 30:21).
Every husband will stand before ALLAH Azzawajal and answer for how he treated his wife. Likewise, every wife will stand before ALLAH Azzawajal and answer for how she treated her husband. No one will carry the burden of another.
The Messenger of ALLAH ﷺ said:
"Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock..." (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim). A husband must therefore fear ALLAH Azzawajal regarding his leadership, kindness, justice, provision, and protection of his family. A wife must fear ALLAH Azzawajal regarding her obedience in what is right, safeguarding her husband's rights, honour, wealth, and home.
Neither spouse should allow the shortcomings of the other to become an excuse to disobey ALLAH Azzawajal. We are not judged by how others treat us, but by how we respond in obedience to our Lord. Let every disagreement be weighed against the question:
"Will my words and actions please ALLAH Azzawajal?"
If every husband feared ALLAH Azzawajal concerning his wife, and every wife feared ALLAH Azzawajal concerning her husband, many homes would be filled with mercy like mine Alhamdulillah :) instead of conflict.
*_May ALLAH Azzawajal grant every Muslim husband and wife the tawfīq to fulfil each other's rights, overlook one another's faults, increase love, mercy and tranquillity in our homes, and make our marriages a means of attaining Jannatul-Firdaws. Aameen. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal grant our singles husbands and wives_*. Aameen.
