TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-INFITAR (Qur’an 82) continues

Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Infitar.

Verse 15.

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ

"They will enter and burn therein on the Day of Recompense (Judgment)."

Commentary:

After stating that the wicked (Al-Fujjār) will be in Hellfire, ALLAH Azzawajal explains when this punishment will occur:

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ

"They will enter and burn therein on the Day of Recompense."

The word يَصْلَوْنَهَا (Yaṣlawnahā) means:

They will enter it. They will be exposed to its intense heat. They will suffer its punishment. This is not a temporary encounter but a real punishment for those who rejected ALLAH’S guidance and died upon disbelief and rebellion.

Meaning of "Yawm Ad-Dīn" (Day of Recompense)

The word Ad-Dīn here means:

Recompense. Accountability, Judgment, Settlement of deeds.

It is the Day when every person will receive the consequences of what they earned in this life.

ALLAH Azzawajal says:

مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

"Master of the Day of Recompense." (1:4). On that Day: Secrets will be exposed. Records will be opened.

Justice will be established. No soul will be wronged. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH.

Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
