*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaumul Jumuat | 26th day of Dhul-Ḥijjah, 1447 AH | Friday, 12th June, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-INFITAR (Qur’an 82) continues_*. BismilLah.
Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day of the week. Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Infitar.
Verses 17 - 18.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
"And what can make you know what the Day of Recompense is?"
ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
"Then again, what can make you know what the Day of Recompense is?"
After describing the fate of the righteous and the wicked from verses 15 and 16, ALLAH Azzawajal draws attention to the greatness and seriousness of the Day of Judgment.
It is as though ALLAH Azzawajal is saying: "The reality of the Day of Judgment is far greater and more terrifying than you can imagine."
ALLAH Azzawajal then repeats the same question a second time for emphasis. In Arabic, repetition is used to magnify the importance of a matter. By repeating this question, ALLAH Azzawajal stresses that the reality of the Day of Judgment is beyond human comprehension.
The horrors, fear, accountability, justice, mercy, reward, and punishment of that Day cannot be fully understood while we are in this worldly life. The repetition serves several purposes: To increase fear and attentiveness. To emphasize the certainty of the Day. To highlight its immense significance.
To prepare the listener for the final explanation in verse 19 to be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH.
*_We ask ALLAH Azzawajal to keep guiding our hearts, protecting our Eemaan from every satanic influence, and granting us sincerity in worship until we meet HIM_*. Aameen.
