*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaumul Jumuat | 11th day of Muharram, 1448 AH | Friday, 26th June, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF QUR'AN 81, Suurah At-Takwīr continues_*. BismilLah.
Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah At-Takwīr:
Verses 22–25: COVERS THE TRUTHFULNESS OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM:
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ ٢٢
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ ٢٣
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ ٢٤
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ ٢٥
22. "And your companion is not mad."
23. "And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon."
24. "And he is not withholding knowledge of the unseen."
25. "And it is not the word of an accursed devil."
Commentary:
These verses continue ALLAH’S defence of HIS Messenger ﷺ against the false accusations of the Quraysh.
The disbelievers claimed that Muhammad ﷺ was a poet, a sorcerer, a fortune-teller, or even possessed by jinn. ALLAH Azzawajal refutes each of these claims and establishes the truthfulness of the Prophet ﷺ and the divine origin of the Qur'an.
Verse 22: Your Companion Is Not Mad
ALLAH Azzawajal refers to the Prophet ﷺ as: "Your companion" (Ṣāḥibukum). This is significant because the people of Makkah knew him better than anyone else.
For forty years before revelation:
He was known for honesty.
He was known for wisdom.
He was known for trustworthiness.
He was known as Al-Amīn (The Trustworthy). How could a man whose entire life was marked by truthfulness suddenly become mad when he began calling people to worship ALLAH Azzawajal?
ALLAH Azzawajal reminds them that they personally know his character.
Verse 23: He Saw Jibreel A.S.
This refers to the Prophet ﷺ seeing Jibreel (عليه السلام) in his true form. The Prophet ﷺ saw Jibreel filling the horizon with his immense form, a sight granted to him by ALLAH Azzawajal. This confirms that the revelation was not imagination, dreams, or delusion, it was a real encounter with ALLAH’S Angel.
Verse 24: He Does Not Withhold the Revelation.
The Prophet ﷺ faithfully conveyed everything that ALLAH Azzawajal revealed to him. He did not:
Conceal revelation, Alter revelation,
Add to revelation, Remove anything from revelation, He delivered ALLAH'S message completely and honestly.
Verse 25: Not the Speech of a Devil
The Quraysh sometimes claimed that the Qur'an came from devils.
ALLAH Azzawajal categorically rejects this. The Qur'an Calls to Tawheed, Commands truthfulness,
Encourages purity and justice,
Forbids evil and immorality.
Shayṭān calls to the exact opposite.
How could a book that destroys the influence of Shayṭān originate from Shayṭān? Alhamdulillah. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH.
*_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.
