TAFSEER OF QUR'AN 81, Suurah At-Takwīr

Yaumul Jumuat | 4th day of Muharram, 1448 AH | Friday, 19th June, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF QUR'AN 81, Suurah At-Takwīr (The Overthrowing) continues_*. BismilLah. 


Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day of the week. Let's continue with our studies of suurah At-Takwīr.

Verse 8

وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ

"And when the girl who was buried alive is asked."

Before Islam, some Arabs buried baby girls alive out of shame or fear of poverty. ALLAH Azzawajal honours these innocent victims by publicly questioning them.

Verse 9

بِأَيِّ ذَنبٍ قُتِلَتْ

"For what sin was she killed?"

The question is not for information but to expose the criminality of the oppressors. The child committed no crime.

Never wrong another person. Fear ALLAH Azzawajal regarding the weak and vulnerable. ALLAH’S justice is perfect and complete.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
