*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_*
Yaum Athalaatha | 23rd day of Dhul-Ḥijjah, 1447 AH | Tuesday, 9th June, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-INFITAR (Qur’an 82) continues_*. BismilLah.
Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Infitar.
Verse 14.
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ
"And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire."
After mentioning the reward of the righteous in verse 13, ALLAH Azzawajal immediately mentions the fate of the opposite group:
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ
"And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire."
This contrast between the righteous and the wicked is a common style in the Qur'an. By mentioning both reward and punishment, ALLAH Azzawajal balances hope and fear in the hearts of believers.
Meaning of "Al-Fujjār" (الفُجَّار)
The word Fujjār is the plural of Fājir (فاجر), which refers to a person who habitually disobeys ALLAH and openly transgresses HIS limits.
The root word Fajara means "to burst forth" or "break through." A fājir is someone who breaks through the boundaries set by ALLAH through persistent sin and rebellion.
Meaning of "Jaḥīm" (جَحِيم)
Jaḥīm is one of the names of Hell mentioned in the Qur'an.
It refers to a blazing, intensely burning Fire prepared for those who reject ALLAH and persist in wrongdoing.
ALLAH Azzawajal says:
وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَى
"And Hellfire will be brought into view for all who see." (79:36)
The use of the word "لَفِي" (surely in) emphasizes certainty. There is no doubt about the fate of those who die upon disbelief and rebellion against ALLAH Azzawajal. To be continued tomorrow. Please refer to my display status for more on this verse.
*_We ask ALLAH Azzawajal to keep guiding our hearts, protecting our Eemaan from every satanic influence, and granting us sincerity in worship until we meet HIM_*. Aameen
