Topic: *MENSTRUATING WOMEN DURING RAMADAN*
Muslim women should not be upset for experiencing menstrual periods during Ramadan; Allah gives you the concession to not fast/pray so embrace it. Making female members of the family feel ashamed and bad is wrong and has no place in Islam.
Menstruation temporarily releases a woman from a variety of religious duties that are otherwise considered obligatory, including ritual prayers, whether or not it’s during Ramadan.
For some women, exemption from fasting given their physical state during menstruation is a welcomed break. Sheikh described this justification as God giving this leave to women "out of his mercy” because fasting could be “burdensome and difficult for menstruating women.” Blood loss during your period can cause low iron levels and fatigue, which is why what you eat and staying hydrated is so important.
it is widely understood that this notion of cleanliness does not mean a woman is spiritually impure when she has her period. The rules surrounding periods are not intended to make women spiritually unequal or otherwise excluded and marginalized.
“Since the cessation of menstruation is accompanied by a ‘purifying or cleansing’ (often a bath), menstruation is seen as making the woman impure for ritual purposes,” Sheikh said. This is similar to the emission of seminal fluids during sex: both the man and the woman cannot pray or fast without first taking a full bath.
