_ The act of stealing on the part of a thief, the act of homicide on the part of a murderer, the wron and corruption of the wrong-doer and the corrupt, the unbelief of the unbeliever and the polytheism of the polytheist - none of these are possible without the will of God.
_*Likewise, the faith of the believer and the piety of the pious are inconceivable without the will of God*
▪ Both these require the will of God. But whereas the things in the first category do not please Him, those in the second do. 
▪ Allah has endowed man with the disposition of obedience as well as of disobedience.

He has created in man Abrahamic and Mosaic as well as Nimrodic and Pharaonic potentialities. Both the pure, unadulterated human nature and the satanic urges are ingrained in man's being and have been provided with the opportunity to work themselves out by coming into conflict with each other.
▪ He has granted those species of His creatures who are possessed of authority (viz. man and jinn) the freedom to choose between good and evil.
▪ Whosoever chooses to act righteously has been given the power to do so, and the same is the case with him who chooses to be evil.

God will be pleased, however, only with those who are working for good. God likes His creatures to exercise their freedom of choice properly and commit themselves to good of their own volition.
▪ The task entrusted to men is to strive to establish the way of life sanctioned by God in the face of opposition and hostility.

*In the framework of His universal will, Allah allows even those who have chosen the path of rebellion to strive for the realization of their goals, even as He grants the believers every opportunity to strive along the path of obedience and service to Allah*
▪ Had God wanted to use miracles to obliterate falsehood and usher in the reign of the Truth, He would not have required human beings to accomplish the task. He could have simply seen to it that no evil one remained in the world, leaving no possibility for polytheism and unbelief to exist.

  *Let's continue on a brief commentary on this verses*👇                                           [2:11] Al-Baqarah-الْبَقَرَة
"وَ اِذَا قِیۡلَ لَہُمۡ لَا تُفۡسِدُوۡا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ۙ  قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُصۡلِحُوۡنَ ﴿۱۱﴾

When it is said to them: ‘Do not spread disorder in the land,’ they say: ‘It is we who reform.’                                       [2:12] Al-Baqarah-الْبَقَرَة
"اَلَاۤ اِنَّہُمۡ ہُمُ الۡمُفۡسِدُوۡنَ وَ لٰکِنۡ لَّا یَشۡعُرُوۡنَ ﴿۱۲﴾

Beware! (Truly) it is they who spread disorder, but they do not have any sense (of it) at all.

Allah is warning them not to cause corruption on earth, leave your evil actions. They make people believe they are peacemaker but in actual they are encouraging evil.
● *Their mischief is disobeying Allah*, because whoever disobeys Allah on the earth, or commands that Allah be disobeyed, he has committed mischief on the earth. Peace on both the earth and in the heavens is ensured (and earned) through obedience (to Allah). 
●  Since the outward appearance of the hypocrite displays belief, he confuses the true believers. Hence, the deceitful behavior of the hypocrites is an act of mischief, because they deceive the believers.

▪️.  by claiming what they do not believe in

They give support and loyalty to the disbelievers against the believers.  _*If the hypocrite remains a disbeliever (rather than pretending to be Muslim), the evil that results from him would be less.* (the hypocrites are designated to the bottom of jahannum along with firaun). Even better, if the hypocrite becomes sincere with Allah and makes the statements that he utters conform to his deeds, he will gain success.
*2 .12:...*  In this ayah too the main address is to the hypocrites.
When they are told not to cause mischief on the earth they say, *“We are peacemakers”.* Allah confirms in this ayah that indeed they are the ones who cause corruption, but they do not have this realization.

*أَلا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـكِن لاَّ يَشْعُرُونَ*

*“Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.”*
 ● Hypocrites (munafiqeen) think that they are reformers but as they have lost the ability to perceive. So Allah is explaining in that Quran that actually these are the people who are creating corruption. But they do not realize it.
● Much mischief is caused by those people, who  call themselves peacemakers while they do not even have a true perception of right and wrong. By their blind arrogance, they supress the good and encourage the evil.

▪ Ibn Jarir said, “The hypocrites commit mischief on earth by disobeying their Lord on it and continuing in the prohibited acts.
▪ They also abandon what Allah made obligatory and doubt His religion, even though He does not accept a deed from anyone except with faith in His religion and certainty of its truth.
▪ The hypocrites also lie to the believers by saying contrary to the doubt and hesitation their hearts harbor.

_*They give as much aid as they can, against Allah’s loyal friends, and support those who deny Allah, His Books and His Messengers.*_
This is how the hypocrites commit mischief on earth, while thinking that they are doing righteous work on earth.”
*Allah has opened their reality by calling them mischievous.*.
