Remain Focused* [[--- Part 9 ---]]

*Remain Focused* [[--- Part 9 ---]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Dua and taawwudhat [prayers seeking refuge with Allah] are like a weapon, and a weapon is only as good as the person who is using it; it is not merely the matter of how sharp it is. If the weapon is perfect and free of faults, and the arm of the person using it is strong, and there is nothing stopping him, then he can lay waste the enemy. But if any of these three features is lacking, then the effect will be lacking accordingly.” 📚(Ad-Da’ wad-Dawa’, p. 35) From this statement, it will be clear that there is an etiquette and rulings which must be fulfilled, in the Dua and in the person making the Dua. This is why, Even though the month of Ramadan is a month where our Du'as is accepted, some people's duas will never get answered. Now, *What we must not ignore if we don't want our Du'a rejected:* *Condition No 4:* Failure to Start your du‘...

STUDIES of SUURAH Al-‘Alaq (Qur’an 96) continues.

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum al-ithnayn, 6th day of Ramadhan, 1447AH, Monday, 23rd February, 2026. *_STUDIES of SUURAH Al-‘Alaq (Qur’an 96) continues. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies from yesterday's reminder; Ramadan Reflection: Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an. If the first revelation began with Iqra’, then Ramadan should increase our connection with: Reciting Qur’an, Seeking knowledge, Teaching others, Reflecting deeply. Verses 6–8 (Warning Against Arrogance) Meaning: No! Indeed, man transgresses Because he sees himself self-sufficient. Surely to your Lord is the return. ✨ Commentary When people feel independent of ALLAH Azzawajal, they become arrogant. Wealth, power, status can make a person forget their Creator. Ramadan breaks this illusion: Fasting reminds us we are weak. Hunger humbles us. Thirst softens the heart. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH.  ...

THE DEVILS ARE STILL ACTIVE

FAJR REMINDER: THE DEVILS ARE STILL ACTIVE By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 6, 1447 (23-February-2026) Why do some “Muslims” still succumb to the temptations of Shayṭān and commit sins during Ramaḍān? It is concerning that some engage in major sins such as consuming intoxicants, committing Zinā', and listening to music. Isn’t Ramaḍān, especially its prescribed fasting, a special gift meant to aid us in resisting such evils? Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) stated: “When the month of Ramaḍān starts, the gates of Jannah (Paradise) are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the Shayṭān (devils) are chained.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1899, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1079] It is important to note that the devils referred to as being chained are the “Maradah Shayāṭīn,” which implies the strongest among them. Thus, the lesser Shayāṭīn are still free to tempt individuals. [Check Jalasāt Ramaḍāniyyah 10/19] Hence, the lesser devils remain active and capable of manipulat...

STUDIES of SUURAH Al-‘Alaq (Qur’an 96).

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaumul ahad, 5th day of Ramadhan, 1447AH, Sunday, 22nd February, 2026. *_STUDIES of SUURAH Al-‘Alaq (Qur’an 96). BismilLah.  This suurah is widely known as the first revelation sent to our beloved Prophet ﷺ in the Cave of Hira. It marks the beginning of revelation to Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam while he was in the Cave of Hira during the month of Ramadan. The Angel Jibreel Alaihi Salaam commanded him: “Iqra’ (Read/Recite).” This moment changed the history of humanity forever. Arabic Text, Meanings & Commentary 1–5 (The First Revelation) Meaning: Recite in the name of your Lord who created. ABOUT IFṬĀR AND SAḤŪR

FAJR REMINDER: ABOUT IFṬĀR AND SAḤŪR By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 5, 1447 (22-February-2026) O Muslims! Let's distinguish our fasting from that of non-Muslims, particularly the People of the Book, by taking Saḥūr (the pre-fasting meal) during the final part of the night. It is not a sign of Taqwā to claim that one can fast without it or to deem those who consume it as weak. ‘Amr Ibn Al-Aas (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated: “The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is eating Saḥūr.” [Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 1096] Neglecting Saḥūr is an act of disobedience to the Prophet (ﷺ). Anas Ibn Mālik (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Take the pre-fasting meal, for surely there are blessings in the pre-fasting meal.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1923, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1095] While some may experience stomach discomfort after eating the pre-fasting meal, it remains important to partake in it—even if it’s merely a sip of water, as it sho...

*Remain Focused* [[--- Part 4 ---]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم One of the acts of worship legislated upon us by Allah in the month of Ramadan is dua (supplication). We should be making dua on a regular basis, throughout the year but in the month of Ramadan, duas hold a greater value than the rest of the year. Infact, in the month of Ramadan, our duas should increase. Why? Because Allah (swt) say: “And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.” 📚(Surah Baqarah v. 186) Furthermore, If you check a page in surah Al-baqarah where Allah (swt) discusses the issues of fasting, you will find the verse preceding it talking about acceptance of Dua. Automatically, there is a direct link between dua and the fasting of Ramadan. Also, The Prophet (PBUH) said: *“The supplications of three persons are never turned away: a just ruler, a fasting person until he breaks his fast..”* 📚(...

*Remain Focused* [[ --- Part 3 --- ]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The month of Ramadan is a blessed period in the year of a Muslim. some Practical Lessons OF SUURAH AL-QADAR, (QUR’AN 97) ESPECIALLY IN RAMADAN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum As-sabt, 4th day of Ramadhan, 1447AH, Saturday, 21st February, 2026. *_some Practical Lessons  OF SUURAH AL-QADAR, (QUR’AN 97) ESPECIALLY IN RAMADAN_*. BismilLah. 1️⃣ Let's Value the Last 10 Nights: The Prophet ﷺ used to increase worship in the last 10 nights of Ramadan (reported in Sahih Muslim). 👉 Don’t wait for the 27th only. 👉 Seek it in the odd nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th). 2️⃣ Quality Over Quantity: One night can change our destiny. Even if we are busy: Pray 2 sincere rak‘ahs. Make deep dua. Read some Qur’an. Give charity. Make istighfar sincerely. 3️⃣ Make the Best Dua Aishah (RA) asked the Prophet ﷺ what to say during the night of Laylatul Qadr. He replied: اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني “O ALLAH, You are Most Forgiving, You love to forgive, so forgive me.” Make this your constant dua. 4️⃣ Ramadan Is About the Qur’an: Since Laylatul Qadr is about revelation, increase: Recitation, Reflection, Understanding, Acting upon it, Don’...

DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE Ā’ISHAH?

FAJR REMINDER: DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE Ā’ISHAH? By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 4, 1447 (21-February-2026) Let’s discuss the worship of Ā’ishah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha). It is undeniable that our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) is the greatest among us. Given her closeness to him and deep affection, it was only natural for Ā’ishah to emulate his example. Throughout her life, she endeavored to live by the teachings of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). In fact, Qiyām Al-Layl (night prayers) was a beloved practice of hers in terms of optional worship. She consistently engaged in it and encouraged others to maintain the same. Her prayers were notably lengthy. Additionally, Ā’ishah was recognized for her commitment to voluntary fasting, demonstrating remarkable diligence in this regard. Subḥānallāh! When it comes to charity, she truly stands out. She often gave so generously—especially while fasting—that she sometimes neglected to keep anything for breaking her fast. Arwah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) remarked: “Mu’awi...

Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day on this blessed month. Let's continue with our Qur’an studies.  بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ We begin in the name of ALLAH Azzawajal,  the most Gracious, the most Merciful. Verse 4.  تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ The angels and the Spirit (Jibreel) descend therein by permission of their Lord with every decree. They fill the earth with mercy and blessings.  سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. The night is full of peace, safety, forgiveness, and mercy until Fajr. It is a night free from evil and Shaytan’s harm. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH with some practical Lessons for Our Daily Life.

PUT DOWN THE SHAVER

FAJR REMINDER: PUT DOWN THE SHAVER! By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 3, 1447 (20-February-2026) If you view keeping a beard as unsociable or believe it makes you unattractive, consider Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ). He was a stunning example of creation, known for his handsome features, captivating appearance, and radiant face—all complemented by a thick, full beard. Furthermore, many of our righteous predecessors who sported beards upheld this practice. It’s essential to understand this: recognizing the beard as a Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) signifies its integral role in Islām. Indeed, he (ﷺ) firmly instructed: “Act against (i.e. contrary to) the polytheists, trim the moustache closely and grow the beard.” [Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 259] So, why hesitate to grow your beard? Remember, Allāh says: “O you who believe! Obey Allāh and His Messenger and turn not away from him (i.e. Muḥammad ﷺ) while you are hearing. And be not like those who say: ‘We have heard,’ but they hear not.” [Sūrah Al-Anfāl (8): 20-21] Oh, Musl...

BismilLah.  بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ We begin in the name of ALLAH Azzawajal,  the most Gracious, the most Merciful. Verse 2. 2. وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? This question shows greatness and importance. ALLAH Azzawajal is magnifying this night to make us pay attention. Verse 3 3. لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. 1,000 months ≈ 83 years and 4 months. GUARD YOUR FAST!

FAJR REMINDER: GUARD YOUR FAST! By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 2, 1447 (19-February-2026) We express our sincere gratitude to Allāh for making Siyām obligatory and Qiyām acts of merit during the month of Ramaḍān. It is narrated from Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) stated: “He who observes the fast of the month of Ramaḍān out of sincerity and hope for the reward from Allāh will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever stands in prayer during the Night of Decree due to faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1901, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 760] In another report, Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) encouraged the practice of standing for night prayers during Ramaḍān, though he did not impose it upon anyone. The Prophet would say, “Whoever stands in prayer during Ramaḍān due to faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” After the Prophet’s passing, this practice continu...

Remain Focused* [[--- Part 2 ----]]

*Remain Focused* [[--- Part 2 ----]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم It's encouraged that we read Qur'an more in the month of Ramadan. But, Imagine a time when people have the Quran, but it’s not in their hearts. Imagine some people call themselves Muslims, but their actions are far from what Islam teaches. Imagine the mosques are full of people, but they are empty of true guidance. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "A time will come when nothing will be left in the minds of the people from the Quran except its calligraphy and from Islam except its name. People who call themselves Muslims will be the furthest from Islam. Mosques would be filled but empty from guidance. ...” 📚[Reported by Tabarani, Daily and Al-Hakam] We recite Qur'an, fast and pray. But our respect for the full message of Islam has become weak. We have started to "pick and choose" our religion. We take the parts we like and we leave the parts that ask us to give up our desires. ...

TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-QADAR, (QUR’AN 97)

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Arba'a, 1st day of Ramadhan, 1447AH, Wednesday, 18th February, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-QADAR, (QUR’AN 97)_*. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed month of the year. Let's continue with our Tafseer series.  This surah was revealed in Makkah. It speaks about the greatness of Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree), the blessed night in which the Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. ALLAH Azzawajal revealed this surah to show the Ummah the immense value of this one night in Ramadhan, especially because previous nations had long lifespans and could do more deeds. ALLAH Azzawajal compensated this Ummah with a night that equals more than 83 years of worship (1,000 months). Allahu Akbar.  The Prophet ﷺ said regarding it (reported in Sahih al-Bukhari): “Whoever stands in prayer on Laylatul Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Let's study t...

FASTING WITHOUT PRAYING

FAJR REMINDER: FASTING WITHOUT PRAYING By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 1, 1447 (18-February-2026) Allāh Akbar! Ramaḍān has arrived, and we offer our heartfelt thanks to Allāh for allowing us to witness this blessed month. O Muslims! One crucial aspect we must focus on to excel during this sanctified time is taking diligent care of our prayers, especially the five daily prayers. We should perform them at their designated times, and men should strive to pray in congregation. ‘Abdullāh Ibn Mas’ūd (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported: I asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), “Which deeds are most beloved to Allāh?” The Messenger replied: “Performing the prayer at its prescribed time…” [Sunan An-Nasa'ī 611] Do you believe Allāh values your fasting during Ramaḍān if you neglect your Ṣalāh (prayer) entirely or postpone it until the prescribed time has lapsed? Moreover, how unfortunate it is to be condemned during Ramaḍān! Allāh states: “So woe unto those performers of Ṣalāt (prayers) (i.e., the hypocrites), who del...

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Athalaatha, 29th day of Sha’abaan, 1447AH, Tuesday, 17th February, 2026. *_RAMADHAN SUHOOR & IFTAR APPEAL ACTIVATED_*. BismilLah.  Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh. Alhamdulillah, In shaa ALLAH Ramadhan may start tomorrow Wednesday subject to moon sighting this evening or not.  While many of us prepare with joy, some families are worrying about their meal. Let’s be the means of ease for them this blessed month. 🤲

ARE YOU READY?

FAJR REMINDER: ARE YOU READY? By: Umm Affān Sha'bān 29, 1447 (17-February-2026) We (in Nigeria) may begin fasting tomorrow if we sight the crescent tonight. However, if it isn't sighted, tomorrow will mark the 30th of Sha'bān, and Thursday, February 19, 2026, will automatically be the first day of Ramaḍān 1447. Is there anything unclear about this? Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whenever you sight the new moon (of the month of Ramaḍān) observe fast, and when you sight it (the new moon of Shawwāl) break it, and if the sky is cloudy for you, then observe fast for thirty days.” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1081] We seek Allāh’s Aid against ignorance and self-desire. Dear brethren! Regardless of whether Ramaḍān begins on Wednesday, or Thursday, are you prepared for it? Are you still considering making Tawbah (repentance) to Allāh? Have you overcome your bad habits? I hope you aren't starting Ramaḍān with transgressions. Sincere Tawbah elevates one’s...

Do Not Forget* [[- Part 1-of-2 -]]

*Do Not Forget* [[- Part 1-of-2 -]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم How do we make the intention to fast in the month of Ramadan? The issue of the intention is very easy in Islam; simply resolving and planning to fast after finding out that the next day is the beginning of the month of Ramadan is the intention, and it is not necessary to utter it out loud or saying "Nawaitu bla bla bla bla" as many people do. Yes. This kind of Nawaitu bla bla bla bla is not recorded in shareeyyah. When Is It Made? When it comes to the time of establishing intention for fasting, there’re two main opinions among the noble scholars of the major schools of thoughts. ▪️The majority of the schools, namely Ḥanafiyyah, Shāfi‘iyyah and Ḥambiliyyah are of the opinion that the Muslim must make a separate intention for every other day he’s going to fast in the month of Ramadan. ▪️On the other hand, Mālikiyyah are of the opinion that one intention established at the beginning of the month, to fa...

ALLĀH IS WITH YOU!

FAJR REMINDER: ALLĀH IS WITH YOU! By: Umm Affān Sha'bān 28, 1447 (16-February-2026) Patience (Ṣabr) is not merely about enduring hardship; it is an intentional act of Eemān grounded in faith in Allāh’s Wisdom. In the Qur’ān, Allāh reassures the believers: “O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2):153] This promise establishes patience as a pathway to attaining Allāh’s Companionship, Support, and Guidance, particularly during times when the heart feels overwhelmed and the future appears uncertain. The lives of the Prophets vividly illustrate this truth. Prophet Ayyūb (ʿAlayhi Salām) faced prolonged illness, loss, and isolation, yet his patience never faltered into despair or complaints against Allāh. His supplications were filled with humility and hope, and Allāh praised him, stating: “Indeed, We found him patient. An excellent servant! Indeed, he was one who constantly turned back to Allāh.” [Sūrah Sad (38)...

THE FAST OF RAMAḌĀN

FAJR REMINDER: THE FAST OF RAMAḌĀN  By: Umm Affān Sha'bān 27, 1447 (15-February-2026) Dear brethren, the month of Forgiveness is fast approaching. One of the most effective ways to attain this forgiveness is through fasting—abstaining from food and other desires from dawn until dusk solely for the Sake of Allāh. Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramaḍān due to faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1901, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 760] This Ḥadīth illustrates that to secure forgiveness for our sins, we need to fast during the month of Ramaḍān with a firm belief in Allāh, being content and not resentful about the obligation of fasting, while anticipating and trusting in the reward that follows. Fasting is indeed one of the most beloved acts of worship to Allāh, especially due to the hidden nature of its practice. Abū Umāmah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that he asked, “O Messeng...
