THE FIVE LEVELS OF PRAYER

FAJR REMINDER: THE FIVE LEVELS OF PRAYER By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 23, 1448 (7-August-2026) Ṣalāt is not merely a physical act of standing, bowing, and prostrating; it is an intimate act of worship in which the heart stands before Allāh. Yet, the quality of a person’s Ṣalāt can differ greatly from one believer to another. Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh) beautifully underscored this reality by describing five levels of people according to their attentiveness, sincerity, and presence of heart during Ṣalāt. [Check Al-Wābil Aṣ-Ṣayyib min al-Kalim Aṭ-Ṭayyib pg. 55-56] With your prayer, you fall into one of these ranks. The question is: Where do you stand, and how can you rise? 1. The Negligent This person wrongs himself by being careless with Wuḍū’, the prayer times, their limits, and essential pillars. Ṣalāt is rushed and performed carelessly, often becoming nothing more than a habitual routine rather than a conscious act of worship. Allāh (ﷻ) warns: “So woe to those performers of Ṣalāt (...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul Jumuat | 24th day of Safar, 1448 AH | Friday, 7th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day of the week.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 30-31. Verse 30 وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَا "And after that He spread out the earth." The word "dahāhā" means that ALLAH Azzawajal spread, prepared, and made the earth suitable for human life. It does not mean that the earth was created only after the heavens; rather, according to the classical scholars, its preparation and furnishing occurred after the heavens were completed. Commentary ALLAH Azzawajal made the earth habitable, providing everything necessary for life. Verse 31 أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا "ALLAH brought forth from it its water and its pasture." ALLAH AZZAWAJAL caused springs, rivers, ra...

YOUR CHILD IS BECOMING WHO YOU RAISE

FAJR REMINDER: YOUR CHILD IS BECOMING WHO YOU RAISE By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 22, 1448 (6-August-2026) Another key aspect of child upbringing in Islām that every Muslim parent must take seriously is moral upbringing. This is where a child gradually learns who they are and, more importantly, who they should strive to become. It is the slow and intentional shaping of manners, virtues, and a sense of responsibility. Through it, children develop qualities such as honesty, patience, self-discipline, kindness, respect, trustworthiness, humility, and modesty in both speech and behavior. Allāh praises the Prophet (ﷺ) for his exceptional character, saying: “And verily, you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) are on an exalted standard of character.” [Sūrah Al-Qalam (68): 4] This reminds us that good character is not separate from our Dīn; it is an essential part of it. Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh) said, “The religion itself is an entirely good character, so whosoever surpasses you in character, surpasses you in...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 16-]] -----------------

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 16-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Maybe you have noticed something. The strong love you felt at the beginning of your marriage may feel smaller now. This happens to many people. But it does not mean your marriage is broken. Let’s understand why. Marriage is a Sacred Trust (Amaanah). Yes. In Islam, marriage is not a business deal. It is an Amaanah—a holy trust from Allah. Allah offered this trust to the heavens, earth, and mountains, but they were afraid to carry it. Only human beings accepted it. 📚Surah - Ahzaab (chapter 33) verse 72 This means marriage is a serious promise to Allah (swt). A Promise You Will Be Asked About My People, Before marriage, you promised each other many things. After marriage, sometimes we forget these promises. But Allah (swt) reminds us: "fulfill your promises, because you will be asked about them on the Day of Judgement". 📚al-Isra’ 17:34 The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “There is no f...

What Happens When Your Reputation Is Put on Trial?

What Happens When Your Reputation Is Put on Trial? A person can spend years building a reputation, earning trust, and carefully guarding the way people perceive them. Yet sometimes, it only takes a single accusation to disturb the peace they spent years building. A few words spoken against them, a misunderstanding that grows, or rumour that reaches people before the truth ever has a chance, and suddenly, the heart becomes restless. The same questions begin to echo in the mind, again and again: "How could they say this about me?" "Do they not know the truth?" "After everything I have done, how could they think this of me?" These thoughts begin to weigh heavily. Because an accusation does not only challenge a person’s reputation, it reveals what their heart is truly attached to. Are we more concerned with how people see us? Or with how Allah sees us? More than fourteen centuries ago, a moment unfolded that would reveal the true state of a man’s heart. A mom...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Al-khamis | 23rd day of Safar, 1448 AH | Thursday, 6th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 28-29. Verse 28 رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا "ALLAH raised its height and perfected it." ALLAH Azzawajal elevated the heavens and fashioned them with perfect order, balance, and harmony. The heavens are neither random nor unstable. Their precision points to the wisdom and power of their Creator. Verse 29 وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا "ALLAH darkened its night and brought out its daylight." Meaning, ALLAH Azzawajal established the alternation of night and day, each serving its own purpose. Night provides rest, while daylight enables people to work, seek provision, and fulfil their responsibilities. This regular cycle is one of ALLAH’S continuous signs. ALLAH AZZAWAJAL says: "And I, ALLAH made the night ...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 15-]]

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 15-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم We wake up with worries. We go to bed with anxiety. We are always running, trying to find peace and happiness. We think: "If I just had more money, all my problems would be solved." But look closely. (1) Haven't you seen a person with a big house and nice cars, but their life is full of drama and sadness? (2) Haven't you met a simple person with little money, but their face is always bright with a real smile? This shows us something important. The peace we are looking for cannot be bought from a pharmacy😃. It cannot be found in a bank account. My People, Inside our hearts, there are two very dangerous sicknesses: (1) No Peace of Mind: Your heart is always restless, always worried, never calm. (2) No Contentment: You always feel you don't have enough. You look at what others have and feel poor, even if Allah has blessed you. Honestly, The two sicknesses above are more dangerous than c...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Arba'a | 22nd day of Safar, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 5th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 27. After mentioning the destruction of Pharaoh because of his arrogance and denial on previous verses, ALLAH Azzawajal returns to the main theme of the suurah: the certainty of the Resurrection. The disbelievers questioned how ALLAH Azzawajal could bring people back to life after they had become dust and bones. In response, ALLAH Azzawajal invites them to reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth. If ALLAH Azzawajal created this vast universe, then resurrecting mankind is even easier. Verse 27 ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا "Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven? HE constructed it." ALLAH Azzawajal challenges those who deny resurrection. If they acknowledge that ALLAH Azzawajal ...

WHEN CULTURE MAKES ḤALĀL LOOK SINFUL

FAJR REMINDER: WHEN CULTURE MAKES ḤALĀL LOOK SINFUL By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 20, 1448 (4-August-2026) Some things are perfectly Ḥalāl within marriage, yet, sadly, certain cultural expectations can make them appear shameful, strange, or even sinful. Islām, however, teaches us to distinguish between what Allāh has permitted and what society has simply taught us to consider acceptable. Let us look at a few examples: • A Wife Initiating Intimacy: In some cultures, a woman is made to feel ashamed for expressing desire for her husband. But wanting your spouse is not immodesty. Within a lawful marriage, affection and physical desire are natural parts of marital companionship. A wife is not wrong for expressing love physically or initiating intimacy with her husband. Marriage should be a place where both spouses can feel loved, wanted, and comfortable with one another. Notably, on the issue of intimacy, foreplay is very important and should also be enjoyed mutually. Ibn Qudāmah (Raḥimahullāh) ...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum athalaatha | 21st day of Safar, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 4th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 23-26. Please read yesterday's reminder first to understand this next verses well. Verses 23–24 فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ • فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ "Then Pharaoh gathered his people and proclaimed: 'I am your supreme lord.'" This statement represents the peak of pride and disbelief. It shows how unchecked power can corrupt a person until they imagine themselves above all accountability. ALLAH Azzawajal says elsewhere: "Pharaoh was arrogant in the land..." (Qur'an 28:4). Verse 25 فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ "So ALLAH seized him with exemplary punishment in this world and the Hereafter." ALLAH Azzawajal drowned Pharaoh in this life and has prepared punishment for him i...

Your Family Bed

Your Family Bed ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Have you ever heard a story like this? "A man got up in the night to pray. When he came back, his bed, pillow, and blanket were gone. They had disappeared!" No. You have never heard this story. It has never happened even in movies. Yes. Your bed will wait for you. But this special night time? Once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. It’s gone forever. Now, think about this again. We believe, as Muslims, that one single night in the grave is longer than 100 years of life on this Earth. If we truly believe this… Why can’t we sacrifice just 20 minutes out 8 hours of the night? Just 20 minutes of sleep, for a prayer that is unlike any other. Yes. Because the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: *“The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.”*📚(Muslim) My People, The minimum of 20 minutes you will sacrifice every blessed night buys you a light in your grave, where there is no sun, no moon, no lamp. This 20 min...

BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 20-22. Please read yesterday's reminder first to understand this next verses well. Verse 20 فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ "Then Musah showed Pharaoh the greatest sign." Musah alaihi salaam demonstrated the miracles ALLAH AZZAWAJAL had given him, such as his staff turning into a serpent and his shining hand. These miracles were clear proofs that Musah alaihi salaam was a messenger of ALLAH, leaving Pharaoh without any excuse. Verse 21 فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ "But he denied and disobeyed." Instead of believing, Pharaoh rejected the truth and persisted in rebellion. When arrogance dominates the heart, even the clearest evidence may be rejected. Verse 22 ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ "Then he turned away, striving against the...
