Six Exception to Backbiting

 🌴Praise be to Allah Almighty.

 *Six Exception to Backbiting*

    *____________________*

      ```Very Important```
*Although backbiting is a major sin and should be avoided at all times, there are six situations, under certain circumstances, in which backbiting is deemed to be permissible.*
*1. Times of oppression*
*It is permissible for an individual who has been oppressed or wronged to complain to a person of authority or any well-known person who can assist in the situation by removing the oppression and helping the oppressed receive justice against the oppressor. However, we should avoid going around complaining to different people about this particular person just for the purpose of venting or complaining.*
-
*2. Seeking advice or fatwa*
*It is permissible to seek advice from a scholar regarding a particular person you are having problems with in order to receive advice or religious ruling on the situation. For example, “My wife did such and such to me” or “my husband did such and such a thing” , “ how shall I handle the situation ?”*
-
*3. Warning others against someone’s evil*
*For the purpose of protecting and giving sincere advice, it is permissible to warn others against a particular person if that person behaves or possess qualities that may harm others. Examples include*
*Warning others against a person who is known to be a liar, thief, or troublemaker*
*Warning a person against a potential suitor known to possess negative qualities such as stinginess, bad tempered, does not pray, interacts with the opposite gender….etc.*
*Informing those who intend to establish a business relationship with a dishonest or unethical person.*
*Note: If warning against a particular person can be achieved by simply saying: “I advise you not to marry this person” or “You should not engage in any business transaction with this person”….. then mentioning the person’s bad characteristics or shortcomings is not permissible as it is no longer necessary to do so.*
-
*4. Openly commits evil*
*If a person publicly commits evil, bidah (innovation), or mischief, then it is permissible to speak openly about what he/she is doing.*
-
*5. For identification purposes*
*If someone is known by a certain nickname or trait, then it is permissible to call him/her by that name providing it is not used as a way to belittle/mock that person, rather just for identification. Example, “the deaf one”, “the blind one”, “the one who limps”, etc. Situations in which there is a need to describe the physical appearance of someone in order to identify him is lawful, but it is best to use other milder words to describe a person if possible.*
-
*6. Seeking help to change evil*
*If one knows of a particular person who has the capacity and wisdom to help an evil-doer or sinner stop sinning and change their habits, then it is permissible to approach that person and speak to them about the sinner for the purpose of seeking his help to intervene and give that person guidance.*
*May Allah Almighty help us to safeguard our tongues and protect us from such major sins. Aameen*
*Don't forget to share all good messages as much as possible, to share in on the reward and also to inspire an amazing sunnah revival.*
NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH
 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...
HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN
 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...
THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF
 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
