Fasting is Knocking* [[---- Episode 19 ----]]

*Fasting is Knocking*
[[---- Episode 19 ----]]
--------------------------------

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: *"whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan with faith and expecting reward from Allah (swt) will be rid of sins like the day he was born from his mother.”* 📚Source: Musnad Ah‌mad 1688

Now,

*Actions that can invalidate the Ramadan fast:*

If you list the things that nolify the fast, there are approximately 7-10 different things.. If you avoid them, you don’t have to worry about anything else. Yes. Because now you know that these things nullify your fast, so anything else does not.

*Nollifier No 1* - Eating & Drinking

Some of the things that invalidate the fast involve things entering the body, such as eating and drinking. If the fasting person eats or drinks intentionally, he or she does not achieve the purpose of fasting. 📚Mahmood’ al-Fataawa, 25/248.

On the above,

Allah has made it clear that, one of the things that break the fast is eating & drinking:

"وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ ٱلْخَيْطُ ٱلْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْطِ ٱلْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ ٱلْفَجْرِۖ ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلصِّيَامَ إِلَى ٱلَّيْلِۚ ."

"And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset..." 📚Al-Baqarah 2:187

Servants of Allah!

If anything reaches the stomach via the nose, this is like eating or drinking.. Hence the Prophet (saw) said: “Snuff up water deeply into the nose (when doing wudoo’), except when you are fasting.” 📚Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 788.

Furthermore,

Few things that invalidate the fast is anything that is regarded as coming under the same heading as eating and drinking . This includes two things:

1) - Transfusion of blood to one who is fasting – such as if he bleeds heavily and is given a blood transfusion. This invalidates the fast because blood is formed from food and drink.

2) - Receiving via a needle (as in the case of a drip) nourishing substances which take the place of food and drink, because this is the same as food and drink. 📚Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, Majaalis Shahr Ramadaan, p/ 70.

Now,

With regard to injections which do not replace food and drink, rather they are administered for the purpose of medical treatment – such as penicillin or insulin – or are given to energize the body, or for the purpose of vaccinations, these do not affect the fast, whether they are intravenous or intramuscular (injected into a vein or a muscle). 📚Fataawa Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem, 4/189.

But to be on the safe side, these injections may be given at night.

Kidney dialysis, in which blood is extracted, cleaned and then returned to the body with the additional of chemical substances such as sugars and salts etc. is regarded as invalidating the fast. 📚 Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 10/19

Furthermore,

One of the things that invalidate the fast is vomiting deliberately. Yes. Because the Prophet (PBUH) said: *"Whoever vomits involuntarily does not have to make up the fast, but whoever vomits deliberately let him make up the fast.”* 📚Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 720,

Ibn al-Mundhir said: The scholars are agreed that the fast of one who vomits deliberately is invalidated. 📚 Al-Mughni, 4/368.

So,

Whoever vomits deliberately by sticking his finger in his throat, pressing his stomach, deliberately smelling something nasty or persisting in looking at something that makes him vomit, has to make up his fast later on.

*Share this very write-up to remind others*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 28th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 7th May 2024). *_GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD_*. Aameen.  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being.* If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride on it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all these will be regarded as charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/2891]. To show gratitude to ALLAH for keeping your body safe and sound, you should give in charity or do charitable deeds. Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: ALLAH'S Messenger (sallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one w...
