 Is it allowed to fast when Sha'ban reaches 15th day.

Alhamdulillah, Fasting on the 15th day of Sha'ban is not permissible in Islam except the one who is making us a missed fast of Ramadan.

As reported from the hadith,

Narrated AbuHurayrah:

AbdulAziz ibn Muhammad said: Abbad ibn Kathir came to Medina and went to the assembly of al-Ala'. He caught hold of his hand and made him stand and said: O Allah, he narrates a tradition from his father on the authority of AbuHurayrah who reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: When the middle of Sha'ban comes, do not fast. Al-Ala' said: O Allah, my father narrated this traditionon the authority of AbuHurayrah from the Prophet (ﷺ)


Sunan Abi Dawud 2337.


It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

When it is the middle of Sha’ban, do not fast until Ramadan comes.””

Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1651.


Fasting in the middle of Sha'ban is innovation except if one is making up for an obligatory fasting.

The messenger of Allah pbuh allow to fast two days in the middle of Sha'ban in some narration but some scholars say it was abrogated with the hadith that made it is impermissible to fast in the month of Sha'ban.
