*Visiting the Sick*
[[--- Part Four --- ]]------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:👉“Every Muslim has five rights over another Muslim: ️to return the greetings, *to visit the sick,* ....” 📚[Bukhari and Muslim].
Now,
Continuation of episode 1, 2 & 3 - Benefit & rewards of visiting the sick:
*Benefit Number 3:*
You Have Built Yourself A Home In Jannah (Paradise).
Evidence:
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (r.a.) that the Messenger of Allaah (PBUH) said, 'Whoever visits a sick person (for the pleasure of Allah), a Caller from the skies announces: You are indeed blessed and your walking is blessed and you have (by this noble act) built yourself a home in Jannah (Paradise).' 📚[Sunan Ibn Maajah]
Therefore,
We should try to locate sick person or persons around us, pay them a visit.. Let us do this at least 2 to 3 times weekly.. And whether they are related to us or not related to us, whether they are those who struggle day & night to cause us harm or pain😳.. Yes.. Visit them.
Evidence:
We all are familiar with the example of a pagan woman who used to throw garbage on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) whenever he passed her house. One day, the noticeable absence of the Prophet’s wrongdoer concerned him so much that he enquired after her. When he learned of her sickness, he visited her. She was so taken surprised by his merciful concern and she embraced Islam.
Servants of Allah!
Visiting the ill today is a revival of the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet as it illustrates empathy among Muslims, a demonstration of love that is a required component of faith.. And so that, we will not be amongst those who will be queried by Allah (swt) on the day of judgement for ignoring the sick amongst us.
Evidence:
*‘O son of Adam, I was sick and you did not visit Me.’* He will say, ‘O my Lord, how could I visit You, when you are the Lord of the Worlds.’ Allah will say, ‘Did you not know that My servant so-and-so was sick and you did not visit him? Did you not know that if you had visited him, you would have found Me there?’ 📚(Saheeh Muslim)
Now,
*One should not sit too long with the sick person & Conversation with the sick - do’s and don’ts:* - All these and more in the next episode, In sha Allah.
*Share this very write-up to remind others*
