Intentions in Islam.
Alhamdulillah, intention is very important.
Allah says,
Al-Bayyinah 98:5
And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.
Ikhlas is very important in the Deen.
It is what Allah looks to accept our deeds
As reported in hadith,
Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth but he looks at your intentions and actions.
Sahih.
In another hadith of Umar ibn Khattab R.A saying,
I heard the messenger of Allah peace be upon him saying,
Actions are judged but by intentions and everyone is rewarded according to his intentions.
Saheeh.
Any act of worship one does seeking the reward from Allah, a person should have intention he or she is doing it for the sake and seeking the pleasure of Allah.
