*Alternative i‘tikāf*
[[--Fourth Outing--]]------------------------------
*Digest this if you can't perform i‘tikāf:*
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Majority of Muslims love to perform i‘tikāf (total seclusion inside the masjid) in the last 10 DAYS of Ramadan BUT certain genuine reasons could not allowed them.. There's nothing to worry about because there's alternative to harvesting all the goodies shared to you.
My people!
Aside the acts mentioned in the previous episodes, here is another thing you can do on the last 10 night of Ramadan (if you are not performing itikaaf - In shaa Allah
*Tip No 5:* Standing in night prayer
Muslims all over the world follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by spending the last ten nights of Ramadan awake late into the night, worshipping Allah by praying and reading the Qur’an, whether at home or in their Mosque.
As Muslims, we believe that Lailatul-Qadr is the best time to ask for forgiveness, although staying up late and worshiping during the other nine final nights of Ramadan is understood to bring immense spiritual rewards and benefits (Getting Your Sins Wiped Out).
Evidence:
Abu Hurairah quoted Allah’s Messenger as saying: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” 📚[Bukhari & Muslim).
*Points to note:*
(1) Do the standing in night to please ONLY ALLAH (swt) and not for show-off or telling people about it the following morning that you have done so so and so last night.
(2) If you can not do the Tahajjud prayer in congregation inside masjid for acceptable reasons, then, do it at your home. The only thing is not to miss ANY OF THE LAST 10 NIGHT without waking up to worship Allah (swt).
(3) Evaluate Yourself. Yes. Ask yourself those questions that need to be asked. Do an evaluation of where you are and where you are going. Let this evaluation lead you to feel happiness for the good you have done and remorse for the bad you have done. This latter feeling should make it easier to seek Allah’s sincere forgiveness when invoking Allah and supplicating to Him in these blessed nights.
*Tip No 6:* Pay Your Zakah
Many Muslims plan to pay this obligatory pillar of Islam yearly at some point in Ramadan, to benefit from the greater spiritual reward attached to charity during the month.
On this,
Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) said, “Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, *‘I am your wealth, I am your treasure.’* “Then the Prophet recited the verses: — ‘Let not those who withhold...…’ (to the end of the verse). 📚(Q3.180). (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī)
