*Tip No 7:* Pay Your Zakatul-Fitr

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The last last of all acts of worships is Zakat al-Fitr, or the Zakat of Breaking the Fast of Ramadan. It also carries the name of Zakat-Al-Badan (The body tax) or Zakat-Al-Ra’s (The head tax). And this Zakat is established mainly to cleanse a Muslim individual from any MINOR shortcomings or MINOR mischief conducted during the month of Ramadan *(Excluding major shirk)*. The head of household can also pay zakat al-Fitr for their dependants such as children, servants and any dependent relatives.

Scholars say any type of food that is common in a particular region can be given for fitr, (e.g. rice, corn, millet, wheat, flour, ground, etc).

And,

If you eat rice more in your house and you can afford giving rice for zakatul fitr, pls don't give maize 🌽. Yes. Give rice:

Al-Baqarah 2:267

O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy. 📚Al-Baqarah 2:267

But,

*Is it compulsory to give this kind of charity at end of every Ramadan fast?*

Yes.

The payment of this form of charity is enjoined on all Muslims irrespective of age or gender.

Evidences:

1️⃣ The Prophet, on him be peace, specifically called the Ramadan Fast-Breaking Alms “Zakat,” and the Quran says: *"And duly establish the Salah-Prayer and give the Zakat-Charity."* 📚Surat al-Baqarah, 2:110 and Surat al-Nisa’, 4:77)

2️⃣ Al-Bukhari and Muslim relate from Ibn ‘Umar that he said: “The Prophet, upon whom be peace, enjoined the payment of one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as Zakatul-fitr on every Muslim, young and old, male and female free and slave.

Then,

*Who should receive it?*

All Muslim scholars agree that needy & poor Muslims are legitimate recipients of Zakat al-Fitr. And a poor individual may also receive Fitr payments from more than one giver, without restriction, though scholars dislike dividing a single payment among many recipients, as it seems to undo Zakat al-Fitr’s objective of sufficing a poor & needy person on the day of Eid.

Difference between poor person & a needy:

A poor person is one who has no hope or have no means of taking care of his or her self or family for say - one week, one month and more. And a needy is have hope of getting something next tomorrow or next week, but lack what to eat for eid-day and or a day after.

Furthermore,

Zakat al-Fitr should not be given to people for whom the payer is already responsible, such as a man’s wife, child, parents and so on — just like Zakat Al-Mal (Zakat if our wealth) — and zakatul fitr should not be given to disbelievers or the wealthy.

And,

The majority of scholars say Zakat al-Fitr can be given to the poor and needy alone, or all eight beneficiary or recipients of Zakat (eg - the poor, the needy, religious scholars etc etc(. It is a choice.

*When should zakatul fitr be paid?*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
