[[----- Part Five -----]]------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
One of the acts of worship legislated upon us by Allah (swt) in the month of Ramadan is dua making (supplication). We should be making dua on a regular basis, throughout the year but in the month of Ramadan, duas hold a greater value than the rest of the year.
My people!
In the month of Ramadan, our duas should increase. Why? Because Allah (swt) say:
“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.” 📚(Surah Baqarah v. 186)
Muslim Faithful!
It is not strange to note that the verse in Surah Baqarah (above) is found in between the verses of Fasting😳. Are you surprised? Please check the page in surah Al-baqarah where Allah (swt) discusses the issues of fasting. Yes. You will find the verse preceding acceptance of Dua speaks about the virtue of Ramadan and the verse that succeeds it mentions some of the rulings of fasting during Ramadan. Automatically, there is a direct link between dua and the fasting of Ramadan.
Furthermore,
The Prophet (pbuh) said:
“The supplications of three persons are never turned away: a just ruler, a fasting person until he breaks his fast...” 📚(Sunan Ibn Majah No. 1624).
So,
Let us not waste any time in the month of Ramadan and let us utilize this month wisely by increasing in our dua to the one who responds to all invocations.
But,
*Do you know that some people's duas will never get answered even in the month of Ramadan?*
Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim (r.h.) said:
“Du
a and taawwudhat [prayers seeking refuge with Allah] are like a weapon, and a weapon is only as good as the person who is using it; it is not merely the matter of how sharp it is. If the weapon is perfect and free of faults, and the arm of the person using it is strong, and there is nothing stopping him, then he can lay waste the enemy. But if any of these three features is lacking, then the effect will be lacking accordingly.” 📚(Ad-Da’ wad-Dawa’, p. 35)
From this statement, it will be clear that there is an etiquette and rulings which must be fulfilled, in the Du
a and in the person making the Dua.
*Conditions of Dua Getting Acceptance:*
There are things that may prevent the Du
a from reaching Allah or being answered . These things must be removed from the person making the Dua and from the Du`a itself. When all of these conditions......
