WHAT’s THE DIFFERENCE between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-ithnayn, 3rd day of Ramadhan 1446AH, Monday,  3rd March, 2025.

*_WHAT’s THE DIFFERENCE between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?_* BismilLah.

AlhamdulilLah, for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed month.

*_Maghfirah_*: is for ALLAH Azzawajal to forgive you for the sin, but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is ALLAH’s forgiveness for your sin, but on Judgment Day, it will be written on your record, ALLAH Azzawajal will ask you about it, but HE won’t punish you because of it. This is for ALLAH Azzawajal to remind us that HE records whatever we do, so we must be careful.

*_Afuw_*: is for ALLAH Azzawajal to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is ALLAH’s pardon for your sin. It will be completely erased from your record, and ALLAH Azzawajal won’t ask you about it on Judgement Day.

This is why our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that this is the best Dua to make when seeking Laylatul Qadr.

*"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'afu 'annee"*

(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)

*O ALLAH, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)"*

So make sure you recite this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily zikir.

*_Our Ramadhan Sadaqah for the poor and the needy during this blessed month is ongoing, so please send your support on my Ghana MTN mobile money number 0244220273 Yakubu Adam_*. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 20th day of Swafar 1447AH, Thursday, 14th August 2025. *_PURIFICATION OF THE HEART_*. BismilLah.  A sister asked me yesterday how we can purify ourselves to achieve the immense benefits mentioned in our reminder yesterday.  The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs).   ALLAH Azzawajal says: He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also, ALLAH Azzawajal says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to ALLAH Azzawajal with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrog...
