FAJR REMINDER: *A CALL TO REPENTANCE IN RAMAḌĀN

FAJR REMINDER: *A CALL TO REPENTANCE IN RAMAḌĀN*

By: Umm Affān

Ramaḍān 2, 1446 (2-March-2025)

Sin is fundamentally destructive, and therefore, we should abstain from it. Shaykh Ibn Bāz (Raḥimahullāh) notably stated, *“An evil deed committed in Ramaḍān is a greater sin than an evil deed committed outside it.”* [Majmū' al-Fatāwā 15\446]

Nevertheless, there are seven significant and particularly harmful sins that we must be especially cautious about committing. While these are not the only major sins, they are so serious that the Prophet (ﷺ) was reported by Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) to have sternly warned against them.

These include: associating partners in worship with Allāh, practicing sorcery or magic, unjustly taking a life that Allāh has prohibited, consuming usury (Ribā), taking the property of an orphan, fleeing from the battlefield during combat, and wrongfully accusing chaste Muslim women of Zinā'. [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6857, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 89]

Thanks to Allāh, we are currently in a month that facilitates the avoidance of sins, especially since the Shayṭān (devils) are restrained. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, *“When Ramaḍān starts, the doors of heavens are opened, and the doors of Hell are closed and the devils are chained up.”* [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1899]. In another narration, it’s stated, *“The doors of Paradise are opened.”*

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (Hafiẓahullāh) mentioned, *“The doors of the Jannah are opened in Ramaḍān because of the abundance of righteous deeds that are legislated in it, which are the means to enter Jannah. And the doors of the Hellfire are closed in this month because of the few transgressions committed, which are the means of entering it.”* [Itḥāf Ahli Al-Īmān Bi Durūs Shahr Ramaḍān, pg. 136]

Dear brethren, Ramaḍān is a time for special forgiveness. Therefore, let us make a sincere effort to repent and strive to avoid sins as much as we can. Let us respond to the call of our Lord, the Most High, and purify our souls in the light of His Mercy. It is through repentance and righteousness that we pave the way for our salvation, and only through His Forgiveness can we attain peace.

I beseech Allāh to grant us understanding, strengthen our commitment to the truth, and protect us from sins that lead to destruction. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 28th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 7th May 2024). *_GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD_*. Aameen.  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being.* If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride on it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all these will be regarded as charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/2891]. To show gratitude to ALLAH for keeping your body safe and sound, you should give in charity or do charitable deeds. Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: ALLAH'S Messenger (sallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one w...

﷽ ➖➖➖ *IMPORTANCE OF SEEKING KNOWLEDGE* ➖➖➖ *An obligation upon every Muslim* ➖➖➖  Allah ﷻ says  *وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ الأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا* _And He taught Adam all the names of everything_ Meaning, the names that people use, such as human, animal, sky, earth, land, sea, horse, donkey, and so forth, including the names of the other species" *ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلَـئِكَةِ* _Then He showed them to the angels_ Meaning, the creations.
